Made in China versus made in Mexico like the Otterbox defender I just replaced. Minor differences in materials. But ver similar. My young teen son is at that stage where he is totally clueless about his own strength- I call it the big puppy stage. As a result, he's irreparably cracked his iPhone 6 screen-complete with tempered glass protectors-three times in the past nine months, simply by pressing on the corners of the phone to make sure it didn't pop out of it's last protective case. My son has to have a phone for a myriad of reasons, one being life-threatening food allergies. Phone *screen* replacement is infinitely more affordably than *phone* replacement, especially given this is essentially a free phone being my hand-me-down. Therefore, we've had the screen replaced repeatedly to the point it was getting ridiculous. This case arrived today and I was pleasantly surprised by how similar it seems to the far more expensive Otterbox 'Defender' case we have for an iPad, especially give the extremely low price! This case is a full-body case, meaning it has an internal hard case that covers the screen with a clear face plate protector that clips onto the solid color rear protector. This hard case then fits inside a heavy-duty rubber outer rear shell with raised bumper framing the face of the phone which a) hold the edges of the hard case firmly in place b) create a raised surface so if the phone is dropped face down or on a corner the screen is shielded from impact and c) keep the phone charging and headphone jacks protected from dust, debris and liquids with moveable rubber flaps. Additionally, this case comes with a thin screen protector (the plastic version of a tempered glass screen overlay) which is applied directly to the actual face of the phone screen. Despite the double layer of materials for screen protection, the touchscreen/home button are still responsive. Installation was extremely simple, although it did require more finessing and coaxing in to ensure everything fit properly than that the Defender case.
