A good book to get aquainted with the language.
Being a linguist it was quite interesting for me to read this book. At first, I would say that you won't become a professional carrier of urdu by learning it with this book. As the title says this book is only for beginners - for those who would like to get acquainted with this language. The guide is quite informative. Recommend for those who are thinking about choosing urdu to learn.

It's okay, but I expected more
It contains everything essential, from everyday phrases that could get you through the day in Pakistan, to basics in the alphabet. It's helpful, but most of it were already things I knew because they were quite basic. Would help if you're a beginner though.

Disappointed and wrong title
What a disappointment! There is no urdu words or how to read or write urdu letters. The book gives words and sentences in english and its urdu transliteration. Pls do not buy if you want to learn urdu. A good thing I bouhgt the kindle version and did not waste a lot of money.

HELPFUL AND INFORMATIVE
The word URDU comes from the word "ORDU" or "ORDA" which means "ARMY". I want to know Urdu language and this book immensely helpful to me. In here, I learn URDU Alphabet, vowels, Genders, Pronouns, Numbers and much more. I love reading and learning URDU language for good.

This book is a waste of time and money
This book is a waste of time and money. If you are thinking of learning Urdu then research books and recommendations but don't think you would learn Urdu from this book.It starts with the Urdu alphabet and ends with a few phrases in Urdu.I could not give it no stars because one star is the lowest.I should actually complain to Amazon for stocking a book that might harm their good name. The Gabster.

Some more basic words like water and food need to be added . Also verbs to be sick, to be cold or warm etc are essential in my opinion.
