I'm quite a fan of pickled food, and this is no exception. Sauerkraut is pickled white cabbage, although it isn't pickled in vinegar, but in brine. It's just cabbage, salt, and water, although this variety also includes 1% juniper berries. I'm not sure I can taste the juniper berries, but who knows, maybe they do subtly improve the flavour. It's 1.66% salt, so worth noting if that is an issue for you. This Biona variety is organic, which can only be a good thing. Taste wise, it's as you would imagine. It's pickled cabbage. If you don't like cabbage, then this is probably not for you. There's nothing sweet about it. It has a sharp, slightly acidic taste. Unsurprisingly popular in Eastern European countries, as its the perfect accompaniment to a fatty sausage. Overall, this is a tasty side dish. Perfect with a salad, or a sausage, or indeed, any meat dish. I hope you found this review helpful.
