A: You need to count the splines. Unless you have 4.56 factory, you should have 28 spline axles. That will not work in a 31 spline carrier

A: 8.8" 31 spline differential is what this is. Yes, this fits into your '09 Ford. I don't believe that the irs makes any difference in the differential.

A: I put one in my 2003 8.8 31 spline should work fine.

A: This diff is strong enough for an 8.8 axle since it's original equipment. Make sure you have the 8.8 axle and not the 9.75 axle which was common in those trucks. car-part.com is a good place to check your tag number
