Heats quickly. Excellent kit to start with as a massage therapist.

The set of hot rocks arrived promptly but with one medium sized rock damaged. I was able to take a picture of it and contact the seller, and they immediately apologized and refunded $5 back to my account.We are loving the function of the hot rocks. The case works well to heat them up. There is a slight odor to the metal box as it heats, but it quickly dissipates as the box cools. We use a small amount of almond oil on the rocks to help them glide gently across skin. They feel wonderful after a long hard day!

I tried it and I like it. The hot rocks relieve pain temporarily (for hours). I thought they might be too hot but I pick them up with a towel and put the rocks between my toes and under my feet after they are cool enough that they won't burn. I only have to wait about 5 minutes for them to cool off. Heating takes about 30 minutes but I have heated them longer when I am too busy doing something else to get them off of the heating element. Either way, it worked out. I love these because I need the comfort!

Heats up quickly, stones are good size only thing is have a back up set of stones cause reheating takes a bit if you are in the middle of a massage.Take 1-2 stones out and place 1--2 back in just so you have hot or warm stones thought out a session.

If you're looking for a starter set of hot stones, this is a viable option. Bottom line, it works. The self-contained system is great - no hot water or complicated heating equipment needed. All you need is power and a little time. However, it's definitely not perfect.As some other reviewers mentioned, it would be well-served by some sort of cord management system. Carrying the case with the cord flopping around, or having to hold onto it separately, is annoying at best.Also, the stones seem very manufactured. Although it's probably real stone material as claimed (I don't have a way to test that), they are very uniform and there was some machining residue and smell on them out of the box (it washed off), which makes them seem fake or strange.Finally, temperature management leaves something to be desired. First, there is no good way to tell when the stones are the right temperature other than to touch them (and hope you don't burn yourself). Their stated 20-40 minutes seems really long, but I suppose using hot water could take that long, too. It would be much better if it came with some sort of temperature monitor, even if it was just a color change somewhere when the stones were an appropriate temperature. And, because they ship the stones in the heating box with bubble wrap around them, the case is too tall to contact the stones top and bottom after the packaging is removed, so only 1 side is getting heated directly. I expect this reduces the efficiency of the system quite a bit. I'm also not sure whether it's possible for them to get too hot, and I don't think there's any auto-shutoff for safety, so that's potentially a concern.And, just nit-picking, the giant picture plastered all over one side of the box (that is not removable without taking the box apart) is not great and it shows more natural looking stones instead of the heavily manufactured ones that actually come in the set.

There is no adjustment to the heat, the smell is very strong.

The stones heats up really quick and the different sizes are perfect for the trouble area's! Super easy to use!
