no lip
These are flat mats to use for small items you're dehydrating so the food does not fall through the trays. Last year I ordered these with a lip to contain liquids. I didn't read this description well enough and needed more with the lip but I ordered these by mistake. Same company so they looked the same. I had to send them back as I have other similar mats. But since I already have the lip trays from this same company, I know that their mats are top quality, and these that I sent back were top quality. Yes I recommend them for their intended use.

Nice substitute for the Excalibur ParaFlexx sheets
I needed to replace our ParaFlexx sheets to our Excalibur Dehydrator and found that they are so expensive that I decided to try these. These work just as well and at a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend them.

Fit perfectly but a little thinner than expected
I like them but there are a few considerations:#1 - They are thinner than I expected. I was hoping that they would be more like the Silpat baking sheets. (see picture of comparison)#2 - You definitely cannot pick these up with anything on them - as shown in the picture where I am holding one in my open hand.#3 - Even though pictures show these on the open Excalibur trays, you would not be able to dry fruit leather and such as the weight would cause it to sink into little pools between the grid - as shown in the picture where I am pressing lightly on the space between - you must use the poly-screen tray insert under them. That picture is what misled me to think they would be thick enough to use without the screen tray.#4 - I believe that they may tear easily if they catch on something because when I was extracting them from the cellophane wrapping, one edge of a sheet was stuck and when I pulled it, a little, tiny piece tore off. Note to self: Handle with care - don't be rough.Aside from these issues, the butternut squash/applesauce leather I made did peel off VERY EASILY. The sheet cleaned up lickety-split after just soaking for a few minutes. So, all in all, I guess I am happy to have them. I can now fill 9 trays with thick mash or use them for small pieces that may fall through the screen trays. They weren't too thin, though, that would make them flap from the air moving across them. They did pull up slightly from the leather shrinking around the edges. I have yet to try them by drying something lightweight to see if there would be any problems there.FYI: I used 3 cups of thick pulp and spread it to within 1/2 to 1 inch of the edges. I should have used 4 cups so that the leather would then dry as a single sheet instead of drying into pieces.

Fits my Excalibur’s trays 14x14
I bought these in hope they would fit my Excalibur’s trays, and they did perfectly. I am very pleased with these mats. I have made fruit leathers that have turned out better on these mats than on parchment paper. I thought the parchment could be washed so I would stick to that. Man am I glad I changed my mind and bought these mats. They are good for all types of dehydrated foods in the Excalibur. I don’t use them for pineapple because the liquid pools up and takes longer to dehydrate. I do however use them for blueberries, leathers, cinnamon apples, and so many other things that I want the fruit to stay in one place and not roll off. Great product.

Works with Excalibur 9 tray Dehydrator
Perfect size for my Excalibur 9 tray Dehydrator. Only con is doesn't lie completely flat there is a tiny hump but it doesn’t bother me. I think it will eventually flatten out. I’m using the mats to dry lavender flower buds and different herbs. Also will use to dry tomatoes in the fall.

Better alternative to Teflon-based sheets
I have always been concerned about using the teflon-based sheets (quit using non-stick cooking pans years ago) and was really happy to find these silicone food dehydrating mats. They work really well (as well as the others) and are reasonably easy to clean if you give them a bit of a soak for a few minutes before wiping off. Silicone is inert so you can process to your heart's content and it won't leach chemicals into your food. Despite the price, I recommend trying these if you are going to be doing a lot of dehydrating.

Chick(en)s love them
Tired of scrubbing until your arms ache just trying to clean up broken eggs and poop from the bottom of your chickens' nesting boxes? Ready to pull your hair out every time you feel that telltale rotten egg goo stench in the box? Well look no further, friends. Just plop one of these mats right in there and you'll have found the proverbial golden goose, er, chicken! These are easy to clean with water, fit perfectly in the bottom of average sized nesting boxes, and will make your chickens "lay" with joy. Such a treasure. We'll be buying these again.

Excalibur Dehydrator silicone sheets
I wanted these for my Excalibur Dehydrator because I like to dry jerky for my dog and didn't want a mess in my dehydrator. I was not disappointed as the mess was contained on the mats and they washed up quickly in my sink. These mats also work for my diced peppers that I dried, as they didn't fall to bottom of dehydrator. Good investment.
