Please excuse me if you are a fan of sanding projects. I don’t like it very much at all but this sandpaper is making the tedious task of sanding a little less terrible. It is made with dust extraction in mind as it allows more of the sawdust to be removed from your project surface and the air around you. Even though the sanding pads are somewhat thin and lightweight it is remarkably durable. 3M seems to get sandpaper right and I wish I started using it earlier for my woodworking sanding.

I've got about 10 hours now using these disks (in 120 and 180) and I'll never go back to paper disks.Yes, they cost around 2 times more than the name brand disks that I've been using (mostly Norton and Diablo), but they last 3-4 times longer, so I'm actually saving money. They also sand better (smoother) and collect dust better (when sander hooked up to a shop-vac).The only downside that I've run into is edge fraying. These aren't good for sanding into corners. They're great for flat surfaces, but if you're hitting corners/edges, then the edges of the disk will fray. It doesn't really affect the function of the disk, but just something to know.

Was concerned at first when I saw how little of the surface actually sands, but the gaps in that herringbone pattern work miracles. Really helps extract the dust so it doesn’t clog and heat up.Also this thing stays sharp for an insanely long time. Was able to get through flattening both sides of a 2ft x 5 ft panel glue up with just one disc and when I touched it the thing felt basically just as sharp as the unused cheaper brand disc I used for comparison. After that long I’d usually have to swap to at least a second or third to get it fully flat- definitely not going back after that.That really helps justify any up front cost since it’s so durable it’s well worth it in the long run.

The sandpaper preforms great. It cuts great and after sanding for over an hour it was still highly abrasive. When sanding a board with cured linseed oil it still clogged but you can easily clean it out. However if using for hand sanding I noticed the purple abrasive started separating. This is worth the money it can also sand paint on a wall to smooth it out and it worked great for that. The Velcro part sticks for a long long time and never wears out. Great sandpaper.

I have a Bosch ROS20VSC sander that I had mostly used with cheap sandpaper from the big box stores, such as Gator brand, and no dust extraction. Based on some reviews from many popular woodworking Youtubers, I decided to give this Xtract 710W a try. The difference between this and some budget paper is amazing. This is hands down the best sandpaper disc I have ever used.I paired a cheap shop vac to my sander and used this sandpaper and it is amazing how quickly it finishes. Even with just 220 grit, it smooths rough framing lumber from the big box store amazingly fast. I purchased this along with the Cubitron II Hookit Clean Sanding Disc Pad Hook Saver. This was recommended for use with mesh discs and it works well. Some reviews talk about these discs not sticking well. With the hook saver disc the mesh pads are completely locked in to your pad.I have been really surprised at just how long I can sand with a single disc, versus the cheap paper I used to use. It's completely changed the way I use my sander. No more working hard to get a decent result. Just a slow pass across the surface with this disc does the trick. I can't recommend this enough and can't imagine ever using another type of sandpaper again.
