Very Glad I Bought this Cooker
Look, I'm just a basic guy. When I cook something, it has to be fairly simple but I also want it to taste good. Usually it doesn't. While I like to eat "gourmet," I don't have near the patience or interest to cook that way. I have made up a recipe I call a "beef stew chili." I throw in some bell peppers, onion, jalapeno, cayenne pepper, etc. - you get the idea - and then throw in a couple of pounds of beef stew meat. Usually this recipe comes out with rubbery meat, even it I cook it in a slow cooker. I've tried braising this and sauteing that, but it still comes out rubbery. When I made this recipe in the Yedi, the meat came out amazingly tender - a first for me - and I didn't have to do anything fancy to get it that way. Plus the whole thing tasted great. Another first. I have since tried a couple of other recipes and they came out surprisingly good. Honestly, I can't believe I made them. So, if you are a basic guy like me, you will really appreciate this product. Not a lot of preparation, fast cook time, and not much to clean up. I bought this particular unit on the strength of the customer reviews and find I agree with the 9 out of 10 customers who rate this product 5 stars. But I did note at the time I made the purchase that it didn't have much in the way of accessories. Now that I've found I truly like this cooker and seem to be using it all the time, I wrote off to the company asking if the various accessories made for the 6 quart Instant Pot would also work with my Yedi. The interesting and impressive thing was that I wrote my inquiry on a Sunday late afternoon and got a reply within an hour from Bobby Djavaheri, Vice-President, Yedi Houseware. This, my friends, is customer service when you have a C-level officer responding to a run of the mill user questions on a Sunday no less. Actually, I was a little shocked. (But happy since he told me that all of the Instant Pot 6 qt. accessories would, in fact, work on the Yedi, so actually we have plenty of accessories to choose from.) In summary, it appears to me that the product is of high quality and works well. And it appears that the company is responsive and very well managed. The bottom line is that I think I made a good decision in selecting the Yedi for purchase. And as long as my rudimentary recipes keep coming out like they have so far, I will be a happy little camper.

Awesome Product-First Instant Pot-Love It!
This was our first instant pot, and after doing quite a lot of reading, decided on a 6 qt. size, which turned out to be perfect for two people and leftovers the next day for most dishes--would also be fine for a family of four. Our first impression was how well engineered the whole thing was with one minor exception (discussed below). As others have mentioned, this is identical to the Instant Pot brand pot, surely made my the same factory, but was less expensive with the Amazon discount and also came with a few more accessories, such as a second egg ring, steamer basket, etc. One difference was the way the steamer lid attaches (I guess on the Instant Pot, it is hinged?), but the Yeti has a slot on the side where the lid quickly inserts vertically and any condensation drains nicely back into the pot, and is separate for easy cleaning. The removable inner pot that does the cooking has a very thick, heavy bottom to evenly disperse the heat. In the two weeks we have owned it, thanks to the plethora of recipes and Instant Pot tips on the web, we have made Chicken Paprikash, Chicken and Dumplings, Pork Chops and Mushroom Soup gravy, chili, Low Country Boil, French Lentil Soup, Deviled Eggs (hard boiled eggs are amazingly fast and simple) and more. The initial learning experience was short; in particular we quickly learned that for pressure cooking, it takes up to 15 minutes to come up to pressure before it automatically seals and starts to time your cooking, and then whether to immediately release the steam or let it naturally dissipate (almost always specified in the recipe), so although it does cook things in 5 or 15 minutes, you make need to allow up to 30 minutes more for those start and end functions. Two things I believe could be improved: 1. (this applies to all Instant Pots, not just Yeti)--so far, we haven't figured out how to adjust a simmer for thicker or thinner gravies you wish to thicken, etc....using Sauté on low is still too vigorous and can burn the bottom, and Slow Cooker on high is to low unless you have a lot of time to wait. Would be great to add a simmer button with low, med, high temperature controls. 2. This one, Yeti engineers please take note. A REAL"what were you thinking": the lower middle four buttons are black on dark grey with dark grey lettering, and hence are completely unreadable. Fortunately, except for the CANCEL button, which also has a red square around it, they are used less often. And my only other complaint is that we have gained 10 lbs in two weeks from all the cooking this has inspired! Overall, this is a great product, and I think you would feel very good about your choice. I rarely write reviews, only if I am extremely pleased or extremely displeased, and this one inspired a response.

LOVE IT!
Works perfectly, easy to use, easy to clean- I use the dishwasher for the pot itself, all the accessories, and the lid (make sure to take off the sealing ring, splash guard, and knob), wipe down the base and you’re good to go! The accessories are awesome- I use the little silicone “gloves” all over the kitchen. I prefer this Yedi brand over my original InstaPot brand and it is used at least 5 times a week in my kitchen. It cuts down cook time a great deal, just be prepared for it to build pressure- this can take a while depending on what you’re cooking. I especially love it for making soups, stews, broths, rice (don’t forget to oil the pot), beans, “boiled” eggs, veggies (season the water at the bottom and make sure the veggies are not touching any water or they get mushy), baked potatoes, the list goes on and on!! You can even precook veggies and ground meats with the sauté and then add your other ingredients and set it to go instead of browning meat or softening veggies on the stove. Its good for meats (even from frozen), just make sure you take advantage of the sauté feature to sear it for max flavor. Do not put anything with skin in it- it gets super gross. And you can always throw the meat in the oven for a quick 5 min broil to round out the sear/ color after it’s done in the instant pot. There are ENDLESS recipes online to keep things interesting. It is just great for freeing up your hands and attention so that you can work on other components of the dish or meal. Works as crockpot too and has a “keep warm” feature. I love it and would recommend it to everyone!! From a college student, to using it at the office, cooking with limited space, cooking for holidays, and just regular use to cook for your family! Cannot rave enough!

Perfect for this "New Englandah"
Pressure cookers. My childhood villan. I can still here that stove top cooker noise from the weight rattling along knowing I was in for a God awful meal. It took me 20 years before I could eat certain meals from that device. I had been researching these new cookers and boy an I glad that I have it a try. In two days I've made two New England staples which are easy in theory but difficult to get great results. First, Chowdah. The saute feature heated the pot so fast just like the pot on the burner. Got the bacon and onions going quickly. Even better was no burning or sticking. Unit got up to pressure fast and 4 min later it's done the cook process. Back to saute to thicken and add the clams and boom, restaurant quality at home. The next one was more difficult. Baked beans. Stovetop, slow cookers always have me troubles. Tough beans, flavor not pushing through etc. Quick overnight soak, fast saute of bacon and onions, dump the ingredients in and 25 min later the pressure infused the beans with flavor and they are perfectly cooked. Unit arrived well packed and I love all the extra pieces which came with it. Great value. Cord detaches. I wish more appliances came with this for easy storage. Watch a few videos or read recipes online. You will pick up cooking with this really fast. Cleaning it is a snap. Seems well built. My rice-slow cooker is going to be retired to my camp to make room for this cooker. Get one, ayeah! BTW the next test is the third NE dish... Boiled dinner.

Nice
This is a very nice piece, I love all the added, and that an extra top came with it, I used it last night for the first time an it was great, I’ve had another similar one, when I cooked the same meal I had to go back and add more time, not this one, the meal was ready to serve when it finished cooking. I have it a 4 star not because anything is wrong, I had a trouble time trying to figure out how to put the top on, I ended up googling it, the top goes on opposite side of what I was thinking

Worth the Hype
How did I ever live without one of these? I'd seen all the hype around these cookers and was debating whether or not to add yet another counter-top appliance to the fleet. Here's why I'm glad I did: * Anything you cook in it is truly "set it & forget it". You simply can't open it up to stir or add ingredients... Once the lid is on and pressure is set, that's it! This is a major time saver because I don't have to be in the kitchen at all while the food cooks. * I have approximately 1.5 zillion lbs of dried beans in my pantry. This makes cooking them super easy! I'm able to cook a whole pound at a time and have beans for a couple meals. I prefer dried beans because they're cheaper and can be cooked with as much or as little salt as you want, but my previous method involved me popping back in to check on the pot and making sure it wasn't foaming over. This is much easier. They don't even have to soak ahead of time. Rinse, add water, cook! * It can cook frozen meat! I'm still testing the limits of this. I tried with frozen chicken breasts that were stuck together and the middles didn't quite get done. Since you can't open the pot midway to separate and spread things out, it's probably best to defrost in the microwave just enough to be able to separate the pieces. Overall, I'm just so very pleased with this. The electric pressure cooker concept has been a real time-saver for me, and this particular model is very nice. It's sturdy, easy to use, and made with quality materials. The stainless steel insert has a nice heavy bottom to distribute heat and works well for the sear/ saute mode. I use this at least 4-5 times each week. Only downside--this did NOT come with a booklet of recipes. I've checked a bunch of recipe books out of the library and it's been fun hunting down new recipes online, but I wish it had a little starter booklet that came with it because pressure cooking is a little different than stovetop cooking.

One year later and…
So I was one of those people who thought an instant pot was a waste of time but a friend turned me on to her Yedi. Honestly, I didn’t even know what one was but she explained it and seeing the quick easy meals she did I thought why not. Having a family of 5 you become desperate to make cooking and cleaning up as quick and easy as possible without sacrificing flavor. I have now had this over a year and and can honestly say I use it almost every day for dinner, a side dish, sometimes a lunch or snack (cheesy potatoes)… the options are literally endless. I’ve made meat loaf, spaghetti, pizza, cakes, makes a killer pot roast, pork chops and gravy, Salisbury steak,… I can go on and on! I cannot attest to the other options besides the slow cooker bc I haven’t used them but I can imagine they’re all great to. It cuts cooking time in half or more! I can have a delicious, flavorful, tender fall apart pot roast w/veggies done in a little over an hour!! (Try adding a couple packets of brown gravy to make an amazing flavor packed gravy) it’s been an amazing investment and will definitely be repurchasing if anything happens to this in the future! Clean up is so easy and the insert and lid can be put in the dish washer as well. It comes with 2 rings that seal the instant pot to create the pressure inside the pot and my kids some how got ours and tore it up (stretched it out)😩 so I ordered one 2days ago and it’s already shipped out and this and other parts are very reasonably priced on their website. I haven’t found a flaw yet that I don’t like about it, it’s definitely made my busy life a little easier and has saved me several times from everyone eating junk bc Im so exhausted I don’t want to cook. Knowing it’s there I’ve been able to throw something together quick, turn the knob so it’s sealed and press a few buttons and walk away til it beeps - and everyone still get a healthier meal. It’s also got a great safety feature that keeps it from opening if you haven’t released the inside steam/pressure - easy to forget when it’s new and you’re a busy mom/dad who’s brain only half works lol!! I was not paid or compensated in any way for this review, I sincerely love my Yedi pot and having to order the new part a couple days ago made me realize I hadn’t reviewed it yet and that I love how easy it was to order the new part needed and others. I have had no issues mechanically with my Yedi and hope to have many more years with it! ❤️🍲

This works great for a pressure cooker
I love the saute feature. This makes it worth getting. I have made a lot of things in it such as: 2 Cheesecakes One came out good but had water on top. I thought it would be ruined but after dumping the water and letting the cheesecake sit on the counter without the sides of the pan the crust was just fine and the cheesecake came out creamy. The second one came out better after using a paper towel on top. Bake your crust, the first one didn't require doing that and the crust was kind of sandy in texture. The second one I baked and then cooled in the freezer and it made a big difference. Meatloaf and potatoes Lime chicken with coconut rice-pot in pot meal (so far my favorite dish) Chuck roast with potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and onions Pasta with sauce Pork Carnitas Enchilada Swisses with tomatillo sauce All of these came out good, I will make slight adjustments the next time but nothing major I did rice by itself twice, the first time it was great the second time I forgot the rice and the pot went to warm and the rice did burn on the bottom, so I won't be getting rid of my rice cooker yet. I haven't tired the slow cook function and this seems as if it could be the best in combination with saute. If that works well I have a slow cooker headed to the Salvation Army. I haven't had this pot long but the paint around the top is wearing off where the lid goes on. Not much but still it's only 2 months old. As to cleaning, it is easier than a crock pot because the stainless steal pot is lighter and easier to handle. I do use paper towels to clean around the top where the lid locks on. My pot seems to get dirty there and it is awkward to clean under the locking flanges.

Really great appliance
I was worried this product wouldnt live up to my expectations and I still havent used all the options on it. But despite that its made a really positive impact on my cooking times. I can cook meat without it burning and forget about it, and thats so important to me. If im doing something upstairs I dont have to worry my meals gonna burn. When it finishes it beeps loudly so I know its done, outside gardening I can still hear it. The meat is done so tender and gorgeous, just love this piece of kit. Wouldnt be without it now.

So good for the money. I mean really good.
I have had similar pressure cookers and this was an upgrade. I got it on a flash deal with 20% off and quite frankly that was a steal. The biggest benefit in my view with the Yedi is it is stainless steel. My last pot was non-stick aluminium and over time that wore out, this is stainless and will last. The controls are easy, and the setting is like most other pots, so no massive learning curve. The fact you get so many accessories with it as standard is great as well. Really pleased with this and use it twice a week at least.

Sorprendente y SUPER RECOMENDABLE!

it's 5 litres not 6
full pot would be 6l but you can only fill up 5 litres for slow cook and even less for pressure. that's bit misleading. my old pot had capacity of 5.6 l and that meant you can fill up 5.6l of liquid/food. this one is smaller even though it says its 6l. but quality looks good . haven't tested it yet

Didn't work
Not impress. I received this on 30th July, unpacked it & put in cupboard, ready for when I had time to read though the info before using. I was then rushed into hospital & only been back home a couple of days. Went to use this but no light (On or Off) or beep happened. Tried it in several different sockets but it's dead as a Doo-Doo. I now don't have the option to return, so have sent the seller a message. Hoping they reply and will replace said item with a new one. This cost a fair amount of money, so I'm not at all happy right now. If the seller contacts me & either offer's a replacement or a full refund, I will come back & write a better review.
