It's just a high quality metal ring with one job...
It may have just one job, but it does it well. I mounted several M42 mount lenses to my Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR camera and discovered that not only did my old Pentax screw mount lenses still work, they were beautifully sharp! Whether you're buying this adapter use your old lenses as an everyday thing, or you're just playing around out of curiosity, it's hard to go wrong with this thing. One note: If you're using this adapter with a full frame body, some lenses won't mount correctly and will cause your camera to error out. A Helios lens with a short back caused this on mine, but on my APS-C body, an EOS 90D, it was no issue. Also, if you're using this on a mirrorless body, you will have no problems, but you will need to pick up an EF to RF mount adapter.

Fantastic Adapter (P6-EF)
URTH made the perfect Pentacon 6 to EF Adapter. The build quality is very high, to the point where it marries perfectly with it's paired lens, and looks like part of the glass itself. Love that it has a screw lock onto the glass. Very snug, no wiggle whatsoever. Same with the EF connection. Nothing that I would point out as a negative on this little gem. Makes vintage new again. Woot!If you're looking for a recommend from a lens geek that stresses on quality, you've found it.

It works.
With this adapter I have been able to use a lens that sat in a storage area, forgotten, for years. With a lesser adapter I was able to mount this Nikon mount lens on my Canon 6D, but I was without any control over the aperture, which was at f16, unbudgeable. But with the (shall I mention its mouthful of a name?) Urth x Gobe Lens Mount Adapter I can use my macro lens. It doesn't convey the number of the f stop you're photographing at, but you can see in your viewfinder when you've opened the lens to its widest aperture. That's when the most light comes through. Slide the thingamajig in the opposite direction and the least amount of light comes through. The transition from light to dark and dark to light is gradual. And the camera can meter correctly. I'm happy with the results.

DOES NOT GO ON THE CAMERA
This is such a weird thing. I own a couple of urth’s adapter before and none of them had issues—they are all quality made and serves its purpose well, until today. This adapter REFUSES to go onto my camera. My other ef glasses/adapter works fine so the problem must is on this item. I just cannot get it onto the camera, it doesn’t fully attach to the mount let along going into the lock position— and its even more painful to get it off while its stuck. Almost ruined my camera because of it. Don’t know about other models but please avoid FD-EF model WITH ALL COST!

It just works!
Yes, it is somewhat expensive compared to the other lens adapters, but the company is a green company and the adapter is very well-made and it works seamlessly with the different Canon FD lenses I own. I have not tested true infinity focus (like the stars or the Milkyway for night photography) but it seems to work well for reasonably distant objects. I did find it tricky to get the adapter off the lens (on the Canon FD 50mm) but I discovered that having it mounted in the camera and getting the adapter off seems to do the trick. I must be doing something wrong. If you do it right, the ring on the adapter adjusts the aperture manually.

Ehh, not happy with it.
I mean, yeah it will fit on my camera, but I can't adjust the F stop, there were no instructions on how to remove it so that was a pain, there is also no auto focus which I didnt see in the description before. Not a fan. I plan to return.(HOW TO REMOVE IT: I attached a picture of the little lever, near the red dot on the adapter, you push down on it, it will raise the pin, and you will be able to twist it off then)

Sexy!
This whole presentation is very attractive down to the packaging! I absolutely love it. I love sexy packaging, it tells a lot about the product that’s enclosed! Highly impressed with this company and the mount that I purchased. Screws on and works very well with mounting my lenses!
