A medical wonder!
Manuka honey is great stuff! This is a great value pot as some where like Holland and Barrett will charge you twice the price for the same product strength. This is great for a sore throat or tickly cough straight off the spoon or in a hot drink. The taste isn't sweat or bland but rather a mixture of them both. After many years of working in a pharmacy on amedicine counter I have often precribe this for colds and sore throats, I can do the same here.

I love the natural sweetness of this honey. It tastes so good. I really like this honey, but it's a bit pricey though.

Buttery, tasty flavour indeed. Levels of MGO not enormously high though
Whether this is what someone wants, in a Manuka Honey - apart from the obvious lovely taste, may determine whether this is the right Manuka or not.I used to like Manuka honey, years ago, bought from the health shop at a comparable price to other fine single flower honeys, before the health benefits of Manuka, as opposed to any other honey, got touted, investigated and very well marketed.Kiwi friends said at one time their native honey was inexpensive, readily available for all, but, alas, no longer. Now almost sold as a miraculous healing entity, the price renders it out of reach as a daily culinary on toastSo it has been years since I had manuka honey, and was pleased to be offered this. There are various supposed wonder ingredients, one of which is methylglyoxal. This has rating of 40 - which is not actually that high. I did wonder, having trawled around to look at some other manukas with a rating substantially higher than this, but at a price not substantially greater than this, whether this particular honey might not be a bit overpriced. It is a multifloral manuka, meaning that other flowers are equally accessible to bees gathering pollen and nectar. This is why the MGO is not anywhere near as high as a monofloral, where only manuka is being bee kissed!I liked the taste of this, and it is as helpful for my current medical need - soothing a sore throat, as any other honey.I have used my favourite old folk remedy for sore throats and chest congestion - take a teaspoonful of turmeric powder, and stir into it as much honey as will absorb the turmeric powder (about 2 teaspoons, Lick this off the spoon allowing it to trickle and coat the sore throat. This is actually delicious and tasty, and really helps not just the throat, but to loosen a slightly chesty cough

The real McCoy.
Most people never give much thought to the type of honey they buy. Honey is honey, just as marmalade is marmalade. But there’s a whole world of honey from which to choose, including rooftop honey, raw honey, chunk honey, orange blossom honey and of course, Manuka honey. Manuka, in particular, has been the cause of much excitement, hailed as a superfood with antibacterial properties and the best manuka honey can be as delicious as it is good for you. What exactly is manuka honey?Well, Manuka honey is a certain type of honey from New Zealand and is derived from bees that feed off the manuka bush. Studies have shown that its health-boosting and antibacterial properties are far superior to other types of honey. Unfortunately, what many people aren’t aware of is that less scrupulous manufacturers will often combine it with cheaper varieties of honey, therefore diluting it and removing any kind of benefits. You need to consume a lot of the best manuka honey for any kind of benefit, so dilution is definitely something to look out for when buying. If you want the real deal, then you could do an awful lot worse than this high quality offering from the Manuka Lab. This genuine New Zealand Government approved Multifloral standard 40+ MGO Manuka honey not only has it's many health and nutritional benefits, it tastes great too..Perfect as a sweetener or for a Hot Toddy on a cold day, but equally great on a simple slice of toast. In summary, it's quality stuff and well worth considering if you're a honey lover or simply looking to give it a try it for it's many benefits.

Lovely taste but lower MGO
The MANUKA LAB 100% Pure & Certified New Zealand Manuka Honey may be expensive but you can tell from the texture, consistency and flavour that this is top class honey. The MGO level is lower than some other honeys because it's multifloral but in return you get a different taste that seems a lot sweeter to me. It depends on how much you really put faith in the higher MGO ratings being that much better for you, though. Science isn't really conclusive on this at the moment.

A mild honey
I have not tasted Manuka honey before and after reading all the claims about it liked the chance to try it. I make no comment on its healing properties as these are mainly subjective however as the "manuka strength" is low +40 compared to many others it may not be a good example. However more important to me was the taste, it had a distinctive flavour which I thought quite pleasant but very mild. I was quite put off by the texture which was thick and almost treacle like, I thought it might have been going granular but there was no hint of this.Summary, if you believe the health giving properties of manuka honey you will probably want one that is higher than +40 as far as the taste is concerned I would like something with a stronger flavour.
