I'll never camp without it again!
These things are brilliant! I took both the larger and smaller pots on a recent canoe camping expedition to the islands of a Scottish loch. I easily roasted a leg of lamb, along with some potatoes and root vegetables. Then the bones went back in the pot with some water and it went back on the fire, and we had soup the next day. I've tried a great many methods for campfire cooking, and this is definitely the best I have come accross. The only potential drawback is the weight. This isn't really avoidable because the whole point of the thing is that it's a big honking chunk of metal. It was no problem in my canoe, but if I was hiking with these things on my back, I doubt I would get very far.

Clean properly
This product is heavy duty and works perfectly. In some reviews I read there were complaints of rust. If you do not clean it properly you will ruin the season and rust can happen as it did with mine.If that happens, clean the Dutch oven with bicarbonate soda and rinse. Add olive to the surface and place in the oven to reseason. Good as new in

A must buy
Brilliant for camping or outside cooking. It's heavy but you can cook with it over an open fire using the pan and the lid to us for cooking in and on. It's easy to clean and holds the heat really well. Great value for money as it gives us another way to cook when out camping.

Great
I really wish the bottom was flat so I could use this on the stove. Apart from this the pot is great, comes with clear instructions on how to clean it and keep it from rusting. Even explains what to do if it does start to show signs of rust.Cast iron is very heavy so definitely keep that in mind when deciding what size to buy. I bought the 9L, great size but pretty heavy.

good quality
people saying it get rusty quickly, don't know how to care about it, it's cast iron, plain not painted metal, so use your logic, it will get rusty if you won't take a proper care (google how to protect cast iron pots)The pot is nicely made and does the job, perfect for off grid living

A good alternative to the petromax
This is similar to the petromax FT4.5.It weighs 5.5kg - 3 kg lighter than the petromax so much be thinner however it still cooks very evenly and the lower weight makes it easier for bushcrafting. The only let down is the handle - this is the only bit that is really lacking. It doesn’t feel well made, only lays flat one way and isn’t designed to hang over a fire (though I’m sure I will bodge something!)Overall I would definitely recommend this pot
