Of all the Kindle books I've ever read, I have ALWAYS downloaded a sample first.This is the first series I have gone straight to purchase, because it just doesn't disappoint.SPOILER!!!Am really impressed with how Torni just won't die.Why don't you invent micro fusion reactors for armour, combat armour ect?Since Eagles run on batteries, where does their reaction mask come from? What do they USE as reaction mass if they run on just batteries?

Earth is under attack again; from her saviors. with parts of the Earth destroyed and more of it's inhabitants murdered, Valdar and his crew seek to free Ibarra from his hacked prison and the future from one of slavery. of course, there are occasionally things that are out of his control.I have to say, it is extremely difficult to put any of these books down. they are just that good

I found the first book somewhat by accident. I'm glad I did. If you have not heard of this series before, start reading! Great action, great characters, great storyline. If you've ever been in the military, I'm sure you'll recognize one or more of the characters as your former platoon mates. Good humor. You won't regret it.

Another fantastic, highly recommended book by Richard Fox. The Ember War Saga also raises some questions about what it means to be human, since part of the plan to survive the Xaros attacks is to create procedurally generated humans (who generally don't know they were created by science and not born naturally.) Something to think about.

I have not finished this book yet but feel obligated to give a review early. Love it. It is a bit slow but not too much. Also, I jump around so much waiting for the next book in the series that it takes me awhile to remember where the plot left off. Richard is the next top of the line Sci-Fi author on my list of favorites. And there are always new alien bad guys in the Universe for the Humans to crush.

Just finished reading The Crucible,it was a great read I was unable to stop reading. Fast paced with a lot of action with a number of different characters. I'm now looking forward to Nov 2016 for the The Xaros Reckoning to come out!

This is a great series. Good character development and story. Can almost picture the environment of the story. An excellent read.

Once again Fox managers to keep readers enthralled in the Embers world. An artful wordsmith who brings to life rich scenery that effortlessly places you in amongst to the heroes and villains. The storyline entices the reader into the void and leaves them wanting more. Bring on the Reckoning!
