College Physics (10th Edition)

I purchased this book for two back-to-back physics courses as it was the required text. I had originally used the OpenStax College Physics textbook in a similar course but found the mechanics sections of the Openstax text to be wildly confusing, full of hundreds and hundreds of equations that left the reader unclear on how each were derived , and repetitively dense and convoluted example problems. Sear's and Zemanky's College Physics, on the other hand, had clear examples and practice problems, informative and concise sections, and refreshing explanations to accompany every new equation that was introduced in the mechanics unit. However, their electricity and magnetism unit left much to be desired; they would consistently introduce a new equation or concept focused only on the "what" instead of the "why." I relied more on the OpenStax for the electricity and magnetism section as a result, which was much better written than their mechanics unit. Therefore, I'd recommend purchasers to use a balance of both depending on the material being studied.

The book could have been in better condition, but since I only needed it for 1 month it worked out pretty good, especially since it was only 20$ for 3 months to use it, that’s unbeatable, Just make sure to call amazon and get your shipping label emailed to you , and take it to a mailing place and they print and mail it for you.

For the first few chapters, I felt like I needed to read OpenStax's free physics book to grasp the concepts before actually reading this text. The practice problems for each chapter are ridiculous at times. It does the job but didn't match my instructors teaching approach which made it difficult to use.

This was what I needed for my college course and it came in mint condition and did its job.

This is probably a pretty good textbook but I hated physics class

Very upset, has very obvious and major defects that stick out and are large, one is about 2 inches long. I was planning to gift it but am actually embarrassed by the poor quality. Very disappointed

This was the required book for college so no comments on the quality of literature. But, what I could comment on was the savings on the price.
