What kind of cable lock is compatible with it？

I have a couple of different Kinsington style locks that I use. It's the same lock I use on my Dell PC.

Another reviewer mentioned the slot was too big for the Kensington combination locking cable. Wondering what lock would work with this slot size?

I am not sure what the reviewer was referring to, but I use mine with an actual Kensington lock. Works fine.

Does it work with the surface pro 7?

I think, based on the design of the device, it will work. The adhesive strip is foam-backed to it may not be an issue if the surface is slightly curved or flat. There are some images of securit slot blade for a device with a kick stand - it is often placed on the top panel and not on the kick stand. I hope this helps.

Could a thief just rip the Blade off the laptop and run off?

Hello Blade uses industrial strength 3M VHB adhesive. Just to rip it off wouldn't be an easy task.
