My students love the Pop games!

I assist a student with reading difficulties. This game has allowed us a few moments to break from reading to formulate words in a playful setting.

Educational value

My students live this game. The game is in o e of our centers. It builds sight word recognition. They are engaged in the game.

I would like to see a more gradual progression. There are so many word families (rimes)...and NO that is not spelled wrong, look up onset and rime. Anyway, I would like a game that has just short vowel rimes and then a more advanced one that has long vowel rimes. There aren't enough short vowel rimes to play a decent game with my Kindergarten grandson and he isn't ready for the long vowel rimes yet. He really liked the few we could do, but there just weren't enough, which is a shame because there are really quite a few more that could be added!! It would be nice if they included about 20 blanks so you could add your own!

This is a great hands-on game/activity for those learning sight words or blends. I bought all of the ones in the series and am very pleased. Love that the popcorn cards are sturdy, the game is quick to learn, and it's fun.Bought for my future classroom, but would be great for at home practice too.

My students love this game and we also have the blends version. It’s really cute and the “pop” cards add a little bit of drama to a game they may have been boring eventually otherwise. It also, teaches kids not to be angry when things don’t quite go their way!This has been great for students that are currently working on word families. It helps give them some initial exposure to new ones in a fun way before they have studied them. You can also go though and pull just the ones you have already covered for a review that goes beyond a word or picture sort.
