Great technology
I have used the Oral B power toothbrushes for years. From my experience and what I read at credible sources, it can be more effective than a "manual" toothbrush. My old one was okay but old and got this new one, IO6. Oral B makes it difficult to choose a model, they have too many models at different prices with subtle differences in features ("bells and whistles") and claimed effectiveness, different models claiming different percentage improvements over manual brushes. I'm sure many of the features on the more expensive models are liked or needed by some people but I found what I needed at this model's level and price. What ever toothbrush you use, every dentist and oral surgeon will tell you: Use the "gentle" or "soft" brushes. That, and a light touch, to avoid damaging gums (worse than cavities!), and spend enough time going over the teeth, then it's all good.So this model has dramatically newer technology than my previous one. The old one seems rattly in comparison, this new one hums smoothly at a very high frequency, so should get bristles into more crannies and gaps, all else equal. The IO models are highly rated at Consumer Reports, but they are in good company with several other brands and models. I chose this one as solid and effective and with the features I want and will use at a not-cheap but reasonable price, and I love it. I always spend over 2-minutes brushing, soft/gentle pressure, move slowly so the bristles get into nooks and crannies, and cover all angles, and my dentist and dental hygienist always remark how clean and healthy things look. Slow and gentle, with soft/gentle brushes, and this new, higher-frequency technology is great.Only drawback is that the handle is visually attractive but smooth and (when brushing, everything wet and sometimes foamy), it gets slippery and slide out of my grip, they should add a bulge at both ends of the handle. I tried to convey that to the manufacturer but they only have contact points for user questions that are answered by drones with boilerplate for common questions, it was too much for them to forward my inputs to their marketing or design departments. Oh well... But while the handle is better for looks (yawn) than using it, it remains an excellent product and very good for dental care, so 5-stars.

Amazing toothbrush, except the battery
I love this electric toothbrush, i love the app that comes with it. I now brush longer and more thorough, you can see on the app, which areas you are brushing and the sensitivity, i love the light that you can choose from, and it turns red if you are using too much pressure. I like the small screen and a greeting smiley that comes with it. The price is great, i see no reason why buy the higher version, it does literally the same thing, The cons are the battery doesnt last long, i charged it all the way and on the third day already it was at almost 80% and i use twice daily. The brush itself is very very very light, compared to my other electric toothbrush from hE, which is heavy and premium and the battery lasts almost a month, but unfortunately the new brush was not shipped for like 2 weeks, so i decided id buy a brand new toothbrush. The charging cable is attached all in one piece, and not a usb cable. It comes with a white traveling case which is super nice. I would have preferred in black, but thats not a bigy.

Recommended by our dentist!
I haven't had an electric toothbrush in probably 5 years. I used to own a sonicare, and it didn't make much for a difference compared to a manual toothbrush. I think it had to do with just the small linear vibration. My dentist recommended Oral-B since it has a more compact rotating head. We decided to give it a try and wow! The results were immediate. It was like getting your teeth cleaned by the dentist. The head seemed to reach more, and did a more thorough job. The different modes are nice, though I usually use Gum Care because my gums are no longer used to an electric toothbrush. The toothbrush buzzes every 30 seconds to give you a heads up where you need to brush. The screen has a counter for you to tell as well. Afterwards you'll either get a smiley face for meeting the 2 minute mark, or a scolding frowny face for failing to meet the time. The top light ring is customizable to your favorite color if you have multiple toothbrushes. That same light turns red or green depending on the pressure during brushing. The Bluetooth feature is nice if you want to see how much time you're spending in one particular section or if you're not brushing properly. I don't use it as much as I probably should. The battery life so far has lasted more like 2-3 weeks. It's been nice when we go up north since we don't have to pack a charger. The travel case is compact and fits two brush heads. It looks like a eyeglass case.Cons: The only thing I dislike is the vent holes. There's nothing preventing the liquid from running through the inside vent and spilling out through the outside vent. It's a constant battle for us to try to avoid making a mess all over the counter and ourselves.. I'd recommend Oral-B to add a screen to only allow air to pass through. This gray one is my wife's and she loves it!
