Bug Zapper
Needs cleaning and shaking to keep light free of stuck on bugs. Will need to be placed under a awning to shield from wind and sideway rain. Best..

Works as expected
Works well, especially for the price. Has to be plugged in, which is the main issue. We’ve used indoors and outdoors and it dealt with a fruit fly issue.

Great bug attracter, inside or out
The bugs in FL have varied mating and active seasons. They will follow a person inside, without any doubt. I bought this zapper for inside my mobile home and set it on top of my work desk, top shelf. The desk is across from my entry door and is conveniently between my kitchen and living room. Any bugs that choose to fly in towards the kitchen are quickly attracted to the zapper. The bugs that choose to fly into the living room are quickly drawn to the zapper. Both ways result in no flying bug nuisance.

This Bug Zapper Is A Must Have ... for Indoors & Outdoors
When trying out any new product line from AMZ, there is certain criteria for form and function, and for this Bug Zapper, I choose my Down-stairs Home Office, which also has a French doorway that opens to the back yard, which is a Tropical jungle environment. Things to consider :.1. Packaging was well done and protective.2. Instructions were clear, as to uses, and care instructions.3. Simple to operate. Just pick a optimal location.4. Very light-weight. EZ to move around.5. Cleaning - is simple.6. Function - at first setup, I thought I got a dude as it sat there but NOT in an ideal location, and as soon as, I moved to a new location. ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ... Now, we're cooking.About the short cord, which is well-made, BTW, not flimsy like other products. To me the short cord, gives it more mobility, as we have many, many, many Outlet's both indoors and outdoors and a ton of Extension Cords of various Copper Gauges.7. Performance Usage & GPS Location - performance is is going to be affected by the Type of Indoor & Outdoor Bug Population environment (Light, Medium, Heavy, Extreme Swarm + Location (Indoor or Outdoor), Property foot square, or, acre size, and the Total Number of devices Deployed & Device Cleaning frequency.IMO, multiple Bug Zapper's work best in a Light-to-almost Heavy Indoor & Outdoor Bug Population environment, when you also have an active Pest Control company monthly service's.Obviously, if you live next door to a steaming Tropical Jungle or Swamp land, deploying 1 or 2 devices is not going to mitigate any environment with millions of Bug's. You would need commercial rated zappers, and other solutions. YMMV..Absolutely, would/will buy again, and is a great deal right now at $24 bucks. Buy two. ✔︎.BTW, just got a notification that the Warranty has just been extended for 1 additional year! ✔︎✔︎Happy Hunting.

Work Horse
I purchased this to replace another name brand zapper that had failed. At first I thought this one was going to be a let down. Overall it is smaller than the one it is replacing. Both are rated for the same coverage, but the previous one had a larger electrical grid. Seems that doesn't matter to much. After 1 week this catch basin was packed full of insects. It seems to be doing an excellent job of attracting and killed the bugs. The zapper has a different starter, it doesn't make the zap bang noise when you turn it on, it just comes on. It will be nice to not have to replace the bulb starter. Very impressed and plan to pick up another.

Bugged!
For some years I used a DynaTrap indoor bug trap that uses UV light, some kind of chemical attractant, and a fan to suck in flying insects and kill them by dehydration.Though the DynaTrap worked pretty well, it was expensive, somewhat fragile in construction, and hellishly difficult to open up and disassemble to change the bulb.So I thought I would try this bug zapper instead, which costs much less and probably kills insects in a more humane way, with an instant electric zap rather than the slow process of dehydration.Unfortunately, the bulb that came in the unit died after just two months (60 days) on the job. In theory, it's supposed to last for 5,000 hours or 208 days. BIG DIFFERENCE!Aside from the bulb, the unit seems well made, with a long thick power cord. The device has no on/off switch; you just plug it in, and you're good to go. The bulb changing procedure is indeed easier than that of the DynaTrap, but still not without some difficulties, which I'll get to in a moment...The manufacturer also includes a plastic brush you can use to clear insect remains off the zapping grid. So far I haven't caught enough "customers" to need to do this cleaning. But they tell you to turn off the unit for two hours before cleaning, to allow the grid to discharge for your safety.I have deducted one star for two reasons:1) I don't know if I will ever get used to the noise of bugs being zapped. On the one hand, it assures you that the trap is doing its job, but the sound never fails to startle me. It's loud, and the sound of a larger bug getting zapped resembles the noise of police officers discharging their tasers in a station house. Yikes!2) The bulb is VERY bright. If the trap will reside in your bedroom (recommended practice), you may find the light distracting and need to wear an eye mask. I ordered a spare bulb from the manufacturer but may see if I can find the same bulb in a darker UV configuration next time around.I have also deducted a second star for the premature bulb failure. Further compounding the bulb problem is the fact that replacement T6 bulbs are NOT all the same length! This particular bug zapper needs a bulb that is 7.5 inches in length (not including the electrode pins); many replacement T6 bulbs extend to 7.76 inches. It is possible you might fit one of those longer bulbs in this zapper by leaving off the stabilizing cover under the bulb (which, on my unit, detaches with ONE screw, not the two cited in the instructions). I can't predict how this would effect the bulb's performance or life span. The first replacement bulb I ordered, from Klahaite itself, is the correct length. I'll report back if the second bulb I just ordered is the wrong length. And though the bulb replacement process is fairly straightforward, it still requires some care. In particular, it is hard to see if you are seating the electrode pins in their holes properly. It took me a few tries to seat them so the bulb stabilizing cover fit in place correctly. In summary, these bulb troubles have made me question whether the Klahaite is the indoor bug zapper of choice. On the positive side, I like the lantern form factor, with its compact footprint, and I like the 4,200-volt zapping power. (Reviews said that a boxy Black & Decker zapper with 2,400 volts didn't do the job.)But I would prefer a zapper using bulbs that: a) are easy to find and come in a uniform size; b) give off a darker blue light rather than the bright white of these bulbs.
