A Practical, No-Lectures Guide to Social Confidence, Respect, and Real-World Skills Raising teens is a challenge. One minute they’re funny and charming, the next they’re moody, distracted, or glued to their screens. You want them to succeed, to connect with family and friends, to feel confident in social situations—but teaching them the small things that make a big difference often feels impossible. 52 Modern Manners for Today’s Teens is designed for this exact problem. This book isn’t about formal etiquette or outdated “do’s and don’ts.” It’s about the skills that really matter today: social awareness, respect, confidence, teamwork, and digital responsibility. These are the lessons that help teens thrive in a world that’s more connected, more digital, and often more complicated than it used to be. Teens may resist learning. They may roll their eyes or push back. That’s normal. This book works differently. It teaches through a stand-up flip calendar format, where each page presents one clear, actionable manner on the front and explains the “why” and practical steps on the back. Place it on a desk, countertop, or bedside table and let teens engage naturally, week by week, at their own pace. What makes it so effective: Relevant lessons for real life: Teens learn about digital safety, personal hygiene, inclusion, teamwork, and everyday social skills. Short, direct, and memorable: Lessons are designed to stick without feeling overwhelming or preachy. Independent learning: Teens can explore the lessons on their own, reducing tension and eye-rolling. Visual and interactive: The calendar-style design keeps lessons visible and top-of-mind all week. Some of the key manners included are: “Nothing online is private” – staying safe and mindful online. “The way you smell matters” – small habits with big social impact. “Don’t leave just one person out” – promoting empathy and kindness. “Pitch in” – understanding contribution, teamwork, and responsibility. “Introduce yourself” – gaining confidence in social interactions. These are just a few of the 52 powerful lessons that have already helped over 100,000 families and classrooms. Parents report smoother family interactions and more respectful communication. Teachers and educators find it an invaluable tool for guiding students toward better social awareness and stronger interpersonal skills. Who benefits: Teens ages 11 and up, whether shy, outgoing, or somewhere in between. Ideal for families, classrooms, or independent learning, it’s a resource that grows with your teen and provides meaningful guidance at every stage of social development. Why this book works: Teens gain confidence without feeling pressured. Lessons are actionable and meaningful in today’s world. Teaches digital responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and self-awareness. Encourages positive relationships at home, school, and online. Visual format reinforces daily learning and creates natural conversation starters. Looking for more? AMAZING
This has been a great addition to our home. Every week we go over one manner at dinner time and then throughout the week we implement that manner. They are things my kids already know to do but it’s good to take a moment to talk and reflect on them and there are new ones that I’m so grateful to be going over with them. Every home with kids can benefit from this! Not just teens, we have our 8 & 11 year old doing these too.

A Wonderful Reminder for Kids and Adults too
Love this manners book for our kids, and its a great refresher for adults too. We keep it on the kitchen table and it has sparked so many great family conversations. Such a fun way to remind us how to work on our manners, kindness and respect for others. I would totally recommend getting this book for your family. Get a couple extra to give away as gifts.

Game changer for nephew beginning high school
I gave this to my 14-year-old nephew just as he was getting ready to start high school. Understandably, he was nervous about it. After stumbling across this book, I knew it would help him and decided to give it to him. A little worried he'd be resistant, I added a note to the front before handing it to him--"Just a few helps to make life go more smoothly in high school and beyond." He eyed it skeptically at first. But after cautiously glancing at a couple of the pages he said, "Oh, I see. These are common sense things that it's good to be reminded about." Yes, some of them were reminders (good for all of us!). And some were things he still needed to learn. The book has had an amazing effect on him! The next time I visited a few days later, he was obviously applying some of the things he had learned from the book. Straight out of the book. He didn't know I knew, but I knew! :) What a change! While I hoped it would help him, I had no idea it would have such an impact. The best part is how much more confident he has become in the last few months. I'm sure this book isn't the only reason--he is just growing up and it's a wonderful thing. But the book has definitely been a game changer for him. I wish I had found it earlier, although he might not have been as receptive if he hadn't been so nervous about starting high school. Either way, I'm grateful to have found it. Thank you, Ms. Romney.

Raising teens with respect and manners!
We’ve had this in our home for almost 4 years now and it still feels relevant! Raising 3 teens and these daily reminders really speak to my heart. I think this is a perfect teacher gift, teen gift or even grandparent gift. It speaks to many ages and the messages are clear and really helps you think with clarity.

So helpful for teens!
This flip book is a great conversation starter with my teens and kids. No old fashioned rules here (liked keeping your elbows off the table), these are manners for today’s teens that help navigate a more digital world, and teach them how to interact with people. We read one each week then leave it in display for reference the rest of the week. We love it!

A wonderful product. Simple clear instructions for good manners that will be used throughout life. I am using for my older children, but not yet teens, and it’s completely applicable.

Common sense reminders for manners in a world that has lost a lot of common sense!
Love this - wish it work but seriously I think my boys read it and do the opposite :) I am hopeful that these tips slowly seep in and they take all the wonderful reminders on board eventually

A must-have companion to raising kind thoughtful teens.
Love love love this! It’s everything you’ve been trying to teach your kids about being an awesome human being. Each week is a well thought out and well worded synopsis of how to deal with both everyday situations and unpleasant situations teens find themselves in. We even keep it at the dinner table and take turns reading it. I especially like to read it when my kids have friends over just in case they need the advice too.

So good!
Honestly so good. A really easy way to openly talk to your children about how they should behave in certain situations, but without it being a lecture or a telling off. We have it on the table and a couple of times a week will turn the page and just have a family discussion. I love the format of it too, as you flip the pages the writing for the discussion topic is in the back of the previous page. It’s just really clever and we love it!

A great way to subtly teach our teens important manners!
As a teacher, I have noticed changes in kids behaviours over the years and "Modern Manners" is a wonderful support to busy families to ensure that their children know how to behave politely. I love that these manners are simple but effective. The stand format of the book is an AMAZING idea! I sit this stand with a new manner each week on our buffet next to our dining table. The kids notice it and we don't have to spend a long time discussing the manner of the week. I also LOVE the TYPOGRAPHY of the manner pages. The font is sophisticated enough that I'm okay to leave it out on display, but the size differences and placements of the text make it stand out for the kids. This is a great resource. I have a teen and a preteen and it's hugely relevant for my boys today!
