Best. Toaster. Ever!
The absolute best toaster I have ever used. No, really! To begin with, I'm a self-proclaimed toaster critic. Do you realize we have been toasting bread using the same method since 1893? No, really! Alan MacMasters in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1893. Look it up. Why has every other kitchen device evolved, but not the beloved toaster. Oh sure, the outside is now "cool-touch" and there are really neat LED lights and even motorized lifts. But is the best way to brown bread still the same way we used to do it 124 years ago!?!? I'm sure GE, Hotpoint, Cuisinart and all the rest (yeah, I'm talking to you LG!!) have high-paid product engineers that are far too busy designing refrigerators that show you what your moldy cheese looks like from your smart phone (yes, that's a thing), laser-guided microwave ovens that will render your leftover pizza inedible even faster and wifi-enabled dishwashers that will do something equally amazing and equally useless. C'mon, let's direct a little of that energy to toasters! There has got to be a better way to brown bread! In the meantime, given what I have to choose from and not spend a ridiculous amount of money, this is now my preferred choice. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical at first. I had never heard of the Royal brand before, but not long ago, no one outside of Korea had heard of Samsung either. So the first thing I noticed was a 6 foot cord! Who does that!? That's a good start. Upon examination, fit and finish looked good, levers seemed to operate smoothly and the instructions were in ENGLISH! YAY!!! But seriously, 124 years of the same appliance; do we really need instructions at this point? I don't get instructions when a I buy a new ink pen... But I digress. Time to give this baby a test run. I load 4 slices of my favorite bread, set the browning levels to mid-point and push both levers down, giddy with anticipation. That old technology began turning those heating elements orange and the smell began to emanate from the slots. Sadly, the odor was more 'manufacturing residue' than toast. I probably should have run a couple of test cycles before adding bread. That was probably in the instructions. But I could see the sides of the bread beginning to brown, which was good. I was starting to get my hopes up. After a couple of minutes, I heard that familiar sound of the spring-loaded toast rests popping up to proudly display their products. Was emerged before me was 4 slices of perfectly lightly browned bread. And browned on both sides!!! Evenly!!! I was truly amazed. I wanted to slather on the butter and maybe a bit of honey, but due to the initial smell of the toasting process, thought better of it. But, my concerns were subsided. This toaster worked better than I had hoped. We've had a few months now with absolutely no issues. It continues to perform up to my expectations, which admittedly are unusually high for a toaster. If you need a new a toaster (or even if you don't) buy this one!

Sleek Toaster
This toaster is very nice looking. It does emit an odor the first time you use it. (I used it the first time without putting anything in it so I could get rid of the smell. It is not a harsh smell). Second time I used it, no smell and it worked great. The only thing I don't like about it is the cord length. According to the booklet that came with it, it says it comes with a short cord to avoid tripping on it. Not sure what they consider short but the cord is over 4 and half feet long. I had to bundle it. (Picture provided)

Not an unpleasant surprise but a true treasure in starting our day!!!! Perfect toast every time.
We have just started to use this very handsome toaster and it has not disappointed us in any way! It looks great next to our stainless Breville electric kettle and performs just as well. The slots are very generous for all types of breads, bagels or buns. The degrees of toasting are more than any other brand I have seen. Although I was not sure about a toaster made in CHINA these days, I admit your company has proven that good customer service and diligence in the quality manufacturing of this toaster has created a VERY PLEASANT APPLIANCE to own. Thank You. ~ KATE & JOHN

Not so Great Toaster
We use it daily and it does a great job. It toasts both sides as it should and looks very nice on my countertop. Too pretty to cover up. I think we have a keeper. I highly recommend this toaster. Well, after 4 months it stopped working altogether. Very disappointed.

Dissappointed
I have tried the royal toaster for a few days before writing a review! The toaster is just like all the other toasters that I have tossed in the trash! I use a heavy honey wheat bread made by ashen mills. I set the new toaster on temp 6. It heated the bread for a few seconds and popped up, no toasting. Had to push down twice more to get the bread toasted the way I like it. I like a consistent brown. Disappointed!!!! Why can I not find a real toaster that toasts bread???

Basic Functionality
This toaster looks nice, but it is very thin and light. This means that it will get VERY hot in use, so children should be kept away from it, or else risk a 2nd degree burn. Also, 850 watts is an exaggeration for power output in my opinion. I use the highest setting for toast [7] and it does a nice job of browning the bread without burning it. As others have stated, it takes a few minutes to toast anything, so be patient or plan ahead. The knobs are functional, but don't feel very sturdy. The heating coils do not glow evenly or put out uniform heat. This is a functional toaster, but not much more.

REMARKABLE
Having run 3 homes (a primary and 2 vacation homes) for years I've run through most makes and models. I purchased the 4 sloce model. Net:Delivery: Ordered through Prime on Sunday, arrived Monday w/o chargePackaging: Nearly prefect product protectionDesign: Approx 10 inches by 10 inches, using little counter space; pleasing, slightly retro lookBuild: Sturdy (stainless steel?)Engineering: Clever. Toaster case contains 2 separate, identical, independent units within one case for efficient useToast Quality: Excellent, toasts evenly, quicklyCaveat: Whether you use conventional kitchen counters (25.5" deep) or a "garage" (31.5" deep) the powercord should be 6 to 12 inches longer.Do not let this single flaw deter you. If a toaster can be remarkable, this is..

Four Stars
Best toaster i've seen for its price. Like the blue LED's, and nice polished finish, looks expensive, feels sturdy.
