Sustee Aquameter (Green, Large, Refillable) - Plant Soil Moisture Meter, Sensor, Probe, Indicator - Best for Potted Plants

Super easy to use and it shows you that from blue to white means the plant needs water. Clever idea. A bit pricey since after 6months you have to buy the refill. So I would suggest getting the one that already comes with the refill.

This product has made taking care of my house plants very easy.

I love the small size of the Sustee Aquameter. Even the Large version blends in with the plants, so it's hardly noticeable. This has a beautiful design and will look nice inside any planting container. I took this photo comparing the size next to a pen, and some photos inserted next to plants.Unfortunately it doesn't work that well for me because the color only changes when there is a lot of water in the planter -- a heavy drenching. When the soil is just a little bit moist then the Sustee Aquameter barely changes to a very light blue, almost white. The device doesn't give me any idea when the soil changes from a little bit moist to bone dry.So this is a wonderful design, but it's just not sensitive enough to lightly moist conditions. If it was more sensitive it would be the best soil moisture meter out there!

I couldn't be happier with these moisture meters. I have several and have placed them throughout my home in various plants. Some plants are in pots that do not have a drain hole, and they run the risk of getting over-watered quite easily. These meters let me know when the dirt, down by the roots, is dry and that it is time to water. An added bonus is that they are attractive enough to just leave in the pot! There's no need to go from plant to plant, with the same meter, dragging dirt all over the house. Great product!!

This review is for the Sustee Aquameter (Green, Large). I've had these for about a month now. The indicator is spot on vs. the meter that I've used. The big difference is that the Aquameter I leave in the plant soil, and the meter with the needle gauge I cannot. It is easy to see from a distance and is helping me reduce maintenance time while keeping my plants happy.Apr 2018: I'll update this later with a longevity report.

I bought 4 of the large size and have been using them in 7 gallon smart pots. I've have been using them for about two weeks and today, one of the meters showed it did not need water while the soil itself was bone dry. Another seemingly good idea that was not adequately tested by the inventor and so the consumer gets to test it themselves and eventually find it isn't reliable enough to depend upon. In my opinion, if a water sensor isn't 100% reliable and accurate, then it is worthless. If you have the sustee aquameter but have to use other means to validate if the sensor is working properly, then it is worthless.

I'm buying more! Some people complain but this indicator is not made to move from pot to pot. Once it is well seated in potting soil, pulling it out may damage the sensor tip. And it takes a long time to change after adding water but it will change and as soil slowly dries the indicator is very accurate. Be sure to read instructions that come with it.

It is working. I do not have a green thumb but I was given a beautiful, lush closet plant. I hesitated accepting it because of my past experiences, but I did and then found this little gadget. So far it is fine and tells me when the plant needs watering. No more guessing and no more drownings. Now, hopefully my beautiful plant will live and thrive.

It's early days yet, as I only started using these a couple of weeks ago.I have a number of plants on top of high bookcases. I have an overhead watering bottle, but I was never able to reach them to see if they *needed* watering. You know the results of that--too wet and unhappy, or too dry and unhappy.These little doodads are working perfectly. Stick them in the soil up to the omega mark, and they truly do change from white to blue and back to white when the plant needs watering.I've been looking for years for something exactly like this. I am SO grateful.
