Aircraft: The Definitive Visual History

I love this book! I bought it for my dad who spent years saving up for a little airplane and two years learning how to use it! He absolutely is a skilled aviator and is so hard to find gifts for. The guy has way too much stuff (LOL) so for his 80th birthday I was agonizing over what to give him that would truly mean something and capture his interest. This book is just so gorgeous. It’s beautifully bound. The size and quality make it a keepsake and the design would make anyone want to take a look inside. It has the coolest photos that just make it a lovely book to enjoy by anyone (I hate flying and. Have no interest in airplanes) but I couldn’t stop myself from looking through the pages and buying my own copy. Lovely coffee table book, too pretty to keep on a shelf hidden from views. Looks awesome layered with other books and even better having the pages open to catch the eye. It’s made by Smithsonian (not sure I spelled it right ) is clearly well crafted and very worth the price. It’s also timeless and actually extremely informative for all but people who love airplanes and all to do with flying will be amazed by this as a gift. I am so excited to give it to my dad at his 80th party and I am really glad I spent the extra money (it’s pricey, but you can find used editions in perfect condition like i did.) so if your looking for a gift that will stand the test of time and will always be cool (it’s very historical yet seems timeless) GET IT!!

Great quality. A lot of information.

I got this on sale as a way to motivate my passion for Aircraft while studying again. The book is excellent, it is hardcover, and the quality is just premium. All pictures are in excellent quality. The whole book is structured in a way that visual and text explanations come together to exemplify the history of aviation as a summary. An easy book to read, and to keep somebody motivated in aviation. An excellent gift to any aviation enthusiast, an excellent gift for students, and an excellent gift even for kids who are interested in the subject, as a way to motivate their curiosity for the wonders of aviation. If you see it on sale, get it!.

This book has a very good representation of aircraft from the first aircraft to modern jets. The pictures are on every aircraft and my favorite is the me 262 the first operational jet fighter. I learned this from this book! I totally recommend if your an aircraft enthusiast.

El libro llegó gracias, pero golpeado de la parte de abajo en una de las tapas está hundido o golpeado, del resto pues llegó bien, me imaginaba un poco mas grande pero su contenido es muy bueno saludos de Perú

A great referance for airplane lovers. I'm an ols Army pilot and use it for a living room decoration book. Very pretty book and interesting to look through.

Nice books great gift

This is such a nice book! The history is fascinating, awesome illustrations. Very happy to have it.

I bought this book for my nephew who is now developing an interest in aircraft, and he was extremely happy with it. Very good illustrations and well laid out. Ideal present for a young lad.
