The Complete French Grammar Course: French beginners to advanced - Including 200 exercises, audios and video lessons (The Complete French Course - ... Grammar, Vocabulary, Expressions)

I got the paperback version. It is a lovely textbook with lots of exercises, clear explanations, and links to accompanying audio and video materials. The format is large, 8.5" by 11", with practice materials and answers incorporated into the handsome volume should you chose to write in your copy. It's really one of the nicest language learning books that I have seen.

I took French in school beginning in the 7th grade. That was in 1970 and poor Mme. Le Fessant had her hands full with a class full of 13 old boys who had their minds on many things other than learning a language! At least that was the case with me.I started learning French again last year using Duolingo. That's fine as far as it goes, but it's not easy to review what I've learned, and I need to understand the structure behind what I'm learning. For me, that means using a book that explains why something works and allows me to easily review what I've learned.Not knowing better, I bought the grammar course first because I was looking for that structure. Now I see from Dylane's self-study guide that I should learn pronunciation first, so I just bought that book too. Along with the conjugation course, I expect this to be a comprehensive approach to learning the language. I've only just started the grammar course, but already I see that it has the structure that I was looking for. When supplemented with the on-line video lessons and audio files, you get everything you need to master French.And Dylane is very charming and engaging. You want to listen to her, and she makes you want to learn. Maybe this old dog can learn a few new tricks after all.

I have started learning French and came across Dylane's lessons on Youtube... and after the 10th lesson, I decided to get her book and LOVE IT!

This is really a very good book to work with for French grammar. It is helped significantly by the video lessons that one can easily access on YouTube and by the audio recordings that accompany almost all sections of this book. It is just crucial to have these recordings to constantly check one's work and, very importantly, to reinforce correct pronunciation. I'm not sure why there are complaints about difficulties in accessing these recordings. They are very easy to find, and Dylane gracefully responded to a question I had about them. My biggest reservation -- and it's significant -- has to do with vocabulary. There is no formal set of vocabulary words to learn in the various chapters. I know that the author has a separate vocabulary book, but this is supposed to be a book standing on its own. Several serious problems stem from this major oversight. First, one just cannot absorb a working vocabulary with any ease at all. Second, it is extremely difficult to learn the genders of nouns. Yes, there is an early chapter on gender, but it hardly addresses the ongoing problem of learning this important aspect of nouns throughout the book. I have to constantly use a dictionary to know both the meanings and the gender of the words used in exercise after exercise. This is extremely frustrating and is a major flaw in an otherwise excellently-organized book.

I like all of Dylane's books, and I bought this one based on my very positive thoughts on her "Long Stories" book. The exercises are clear, and if you go through the book methodically, your grammar will be better.

This is a superb text book when combined with the online classes. I ended up buying the full set of books as a supplement to my Preply lessons. I had a question and the young lady responded the same day

I've been "studying" French for close to a year now and this workbook is a blessing let me tell you.This book is written in a very straightforward manner, doesn't over complicate the rules and makes comparisons that are easy to understand, in English to the French rules. The exercises are not TOO complicated but are certainly not easy if you are a débutant, also the videos from the author are great to watch and work the book at the same time. I would say it is very close to "being in class" at home!

This is one of the most important texts in my French studies. I am currently a student of French and use this text constantly for a better explanation of classroom material. Many exercises for repetitive reinforcement.

I like the order in which the author tackles the different aspects of grammar. There is a logical sequence to the learning process that she follows rather than just grouping all verbs together as a lot for example.

Acaba de llegar apenas lo estoy usando pero ya me encanta, explicado todo perfectamente punto por punto, buenos ejercicios, muy coherente la forma de explicar. Solo le pongo 4 estrellas porque al parecer los audios en mi caso estan teniendo un bug porque no me manda los audios al correo, entonces no los he podido escuchar, lo intente varias veces pero nada. Solo eso, de ahi en fuera, amo muchisimo este libro. Gracias por un curso tan completo!

The media could not be loaded. Having struggled with this language for the last 11years I was starting to think I wasn't capable to learn. But after watching Dylane's YouTube videos for help with my current lessons, I found she explained things in such a way that I completely understood! Ive had the book around a week now and although I haven't hit subjects that I'm unfamiliar with, she's explained other things that have not been said to me by other teachers!On y va!

This book accompanies Dylane's online French Grammar Course available on YouTube and is great as the book includes additional examples on each grammar point as well as exercises to test your understanding of each lesson.My Frech Grammar has definitely improved as a result of reading this book and I will continue to be my go to resource in the future, when I need a refresher on any specific French grammar points.
