Amazon Grocery, Chopped Pecans, 8 Oz (Previously Happy Belly, Packaging May Vary)

My go-to breakfast is a healthy portion of oatmeal. I typically throw in whatever dried fruit or nuts I have laying around. When replenishing my sliced almond stash, I came across these and had to try them, especially given the budget-friendly pricing. What I got was definitely not what I was expecting. As it turns out, these are FINELY chopped pecans! Perfect for blending in with my morning oats, and adding good pecan flavor without the chunky texture of bigger chopped pieces. They are definitely NOT snacking-friendly because the pieces are so small. However, they're an excellent addition for baked goods, stirring into smoothie bowls, or sprinkling over a salad. Or in your morning oats!

Amazon delivered it a day before expected. The pecans are fresh and tasty. They don't contain any salt and smell fragrant when toasted at 325F for ~5 min. Just a heads up, you get very finely chopped pecans, almost like a pecan meal or coarse sand. Don't expect to get pecan halves or coarsely chopped pecans here!

I had hoped they’d be good for snacks but they are better for granola, yogurt toppings. Too small for salads and snacks. Might be too small for cookies. Great for frosting toppers if toasted.

Pecans for many people are a favorite. And in baking, sometimes they require a halves or chopped. Buying them already chopped as a huge time saver. Since I don’t use or eat all of them in a one or two time use, I like the “zip closure” built into the bag. One of my friends said to make sure they’re closed tightly, freeze them, and they will keep forever. And they do. Highly recommend this brand for the cost savings, superb taste, and the quality.

I use these in many desserts I make up or recipes I follow. Seem to be a good value for today's pecan prices. Debated on 4 or 5 stars because they may be an older crop but for my use they worked out just fine.
