Review: Good purchase. - Was very worried after reading many negative reviews regarding the broken GPU. However, mine works fine for now. Boosted GPU clock up to 1900mhz and it ran smoothly with no crushes in Witcher 3 on ultra. Will test on more games in order to make sure that my GPU is 100% working. Review: Crashing. (Update) - I was really exited to get the laptop. After all the updates I decided to test some games on it. Unfortunately, after a few minutes of game time I would get a black screen and the laptop would crash, and restart. The problem kept happening so I decided to look up to see if other people were having this problem. I found that this problem is a recurring thing with this model and some people were saying even when they got a replacement, the laptop did the same thing. I can say the the laptop it's self looks great. It also runs games great until the system crashes. I'm going to give MSI a call later today. I will update the review if they give me a fix for this problem. Update: I contacted MSI and they suggested that I updated my bios. After I did this it seemed to be better, but after 15 minutes in Killing Floor 2 I got vertical black lines going up my screen and got the same crash. I can say the game ran FANTASTIC up until the crash. I would love to get another one. I'm just not sure if I want to gamble getting another defective one. Update: I returned the first laptop and ordered another one hoping for the best. So far the laptop is working perfectly. I've been testing it for a few days now and it is running all the games I throw at it with no problems at all. Keeping the review at 4 stars because it seems that MSI has a lot of problems with quality control for this laptop. I've seen a lot of people saying they were experiencing the same issues I was having. Over all it's a great laptop, runs quiet, runs new titles above 60 frames, and is great looking! I would highly recommend this laptop. Update (again): Dead pixel after 20 days of use. On the bright side, it runs great. I'll be returning it though. Not sure if I will be getting another one. MSI needs to make some major improvements as far as quality control goes.

BAD, Defective GPU
BAD, This laptop has a GPU Defective , i will send it to RMA. When GPU boost above of 1650 Mhz it crashes on all the games. I tryed new fresh install, different drivers, bios firmware update, vdriver firmware update, EC firmware update without lucky, there are some unoficial Vdriver firmware that works without crashes but it limit the video cores at 1450Mhz to 1650Mhz, (1070 nvidia cards can up to 1450-1900Mhz at stock configurations). As i can saw on the forums, It seems to be a common error on these machines. It is clear that MSI has poor Quality controls (if it has).

Gpu crashing and bad design for user changing to 2.5" ssd
Well this is a powerful system for it's price but sadly i had broke the warranty seal to upgrade to a 2.5" SSD, and now gpu is always crashing when it hits 1600+ mhz and i have no way of returning for warranty because they have couldn't even add a easy access panal for ssd without breaking the warranty.

Great Performance, not so great Quality Control by MSI
This laptop quite possibly has one of the best price to performance ratios of all gaming notebooks available to purchase from trusted manufacturers. New games like BF1 can run at Ultra and still make use of the in high refresh rate display the laptop is equipped with. Slightly older games like Skyrim run without issue even with 4K textures and other mods enabled. Basically, this computer should be able to run at least 95% of the games you can throw at it, and thanks to its high spec hardware, should be able to continue doing this for the foreseeable future. MSI succeeded in designing a gaming laptop that, for a reasonable cost, allows a gamer to play their favorites with great performance. What they failed to do was make sure all the laptops were 100% functional. The first laptop I received worked roughly half of the time and as such was exchanged for a new laptop that also had some issues (more on the second laptop later). The major issue with the first computer turned out to be a defective display; the computer would boot up to a white screen half of the time which made it unusable without an external display. I imagine that many people, myself included will are interested in the 120 Hz refresh rate that this model offers. Having one of the primary features be nonfunctional out of the box was certainly a frustrating experience. However amazon took care of this issue by allowing me to exchange it for a new one. The second one arrived and worked out of the box with some annoyances of its own. Whenever the graphics card was put under load, such as during gameplay, the system would crash. After hours of research I identified the culprit was faulty VBIOS that were shipped with the product. Removing the original VBIOS in favor of a new version fixed this issue but still left me frustrated as it really was a waste of my time. MSI really needs to take a closer look at the products it ships out to make sure they aren't defective in even the slightest way so that customers aren't given a crippled or broken machine. All in all I recommend this laptop but only if you understand that there is a possiblity of problems out of the box because of MSI's incompetent QC section. If you get it working, there truly is no better deal at this current moment but the risks, however slight they may be are there.

Very nice Laptop, runs everything I play on max graphics ...
Very nice Laptop, runs everything I play on max graphics with no problems. I did have a small sound issue out of the box, but as soon as I downloaded the new sound drivers no problems. Best gaming laptop I've ever had.
