Sometimes he needed to be reminded of what number was next to get the circuit to work. The circuit project we did only took about 8 to 10 minutes to complete which is perfect for a 9 year old's attention span. Great gift for a 9 year old. **Q: Would that be cool for adults as well?** A: Honestly, probably even better for adults than children, if experiences in my household are any guide.My kit: in good repair; the manual is a little dog-eared from me carrying it around and studying schematics to see how things work.The teenage boy's kit: Manual is completely missing. Half the parts have been removed from the board, which now looks like scrap cardboard.I'd be a little mad at the boy except I did the same thing to a similar kit I had when I was his age. There is simply something irresistible about the desire to try to build new things out of the kit, and invariably get it wrong and do more harm than good. I hooked up mine to a Radio Shack's Electronics Learning Lab Kit. The Elenco 130 is placed on it's own box with my RS kit just in front of E130kit, like steps. One in front of the other. I can work on both at the same time or with eachother. You can hook-upThis Elenco 130 kit to anyother kit you wish. In school you can hook-up the whole class.or the whole school, that if have alot batts and a long ass wire. I still my Elenco 130-in-1 kit from '95. Ok, have fun.
