NOW Supplements, Certified Organic Acai Powder, Super Fruit with Phytonutrients, 3-Ounce

Prospective buyers should know this product has been reformulated and is NOT a pure acai product. The same inaccurate information appears on the Now Foods product page as of today.I chose this product specifically because it did not contain citric acid, which I have found my body reacts to in additive form. I recently tried the Now liquid acai concentrate and had to stop using it because it made my throat swell. I know from other experiments that this reaction is from citric acid, not a berry allergy. If I have to take a Benadryl every time I use a supposedly healthy product that's obviously a problem.The label on the container I received last week says "Other ingredients: citric acid and acerola." What I was expecting to see was "Other ingredients: none," as pictured here currently. Unfortunately I did not inspect the label until after using a second serving and experiencing unexpected symptoms.I recognize there are other acai products available, but I trusted the Now brand, and I liked the Now liquid acai concentrate aside from the throat swelling.The liquid concentrate tastes far better, so if you don't have an issue with citric acid I'd recommend choosing that one. The powder tastes more earthy than fruity. If the citric acid and acerola are being used for flavor here I don't think either is doing much. You won't notice the flavor if you're using a small amount in a smoothie, but you will taste the earthiness if you try to mix it into a glass of water.The recommended serving of the liquid acai concentrate also felt more potent. I can't feel the theobromine in this acai powder at the half-teaspoon recommended serving.

I have been taking Now Acai Powder for several months now and feel a lot more energy throughout the day (especially in the mornings). The powder does not dissolve right away in my smoothies but I put 1 tsp. in my smoothies an hour before and the powder dissolves and thickens within that time. It tastes so delicious and look forward to smoothies with the Acai Powder. I wish the powder came in a larger bottle than the 3 oz. This only lasts me a few weeks. Will be purchasing this item again!!

I bought it for my husband because he felt tire and low in energy. After a few weeks he noticed a boost of energy. So I would say it works pretty good in maintaining energy and immune system.

I was alittle neverous as I have never tried NOW foods Organic Acai Powder, but after 1) trying it and 2) seeing the amount of servings it has, I am very impressed and will not get anything else. The product taste great and is exactly as they advertised. I have always loved NOW Foods, and they hit the nail on the head with this one yet again! Thanks NOW!
