Customer service done right!
Received the wrong set of couplings that I had ordered, reported it on Amazon product support, and just a couple of hours later received a message from SprinklerHut that they had already shipped the correct item. Now THAT is how you do customer service. No questions asked, no going back and forth, simply corrected the mistake on their dime, nice and easy. Thanks SprinklerHut!

Reliable
One does not need to worry about it coming loose. Soak end of hose in very hot water 2 or 3 minutes makes installation easier.

Work-around successful even though these didn't fit our particular 1/2-inch dripline
I bought these couplings for repairing a cut in our Rainbird Copper Shield 1/2-inch diameter dripline. We also bought a coil of 1/2-diameter dripline. But that was still cheaper than the $!80 the sprinkler company would charge for a service call. We ran into a problem of lack of fit but did a successful work-around.The couplings were too large in diameter by the slightest fraction of an inch for the existing dripline. I called Rainbird customer service for help. They suggested that our installed dripline might be slightly smaller due to a difference in a manufacturing run--different dripline manufactured at different times might be slightly different in diameter. The helpful Rainbird customer service person suggested warming the ends of the dripline with a hair blow dryer and applying some dish soap to the dripiline to allow us to slip in the couplings. I held the blow dryer to one end of the dripline while my husband squeezed the coupling in. We used vegetable oil rather than dishsoap to make is slippery. I probably wouldn't have had the strength to push the coupling into the dripline. But my husband was able to. It worked!

Same as Rainbird at half the cost
These barbed couplers are the greatest. They are exactly the same as the Rainbird branded couplers that are sold in the big box stores. And they are half the cost! They call the size 1/2 inch but that must be ID measure, but the distribution tubing is .700 OD measure. Using these barbed couplers to reconfigure my garden distribution size .700 OD tubing makes the job so easy now. I do use the Rainbird tool to insert them into the tubing. They are much easier to go on, fit very tight and they do not leak. So much better than the old style coupler that, depending on the wall thickness of the distribution tubing, were either impossible to get on or so loose they leaked. These couplers are water tight whether the tubing is thin or thick walled.

Wow!
Wow! Wish I had found this fitting earlier. So easy to attach this fitting to tubing.

Overpriced, but work well
Fit well and seem to hold up well. Seem way too expensive, but I don't want to take a chance on another brand.

I like Rain Bird fittings and drip irrigation pressure compensating tubing.
This year I started using this and other Rain Bird products for drip irrigation. The fittings are good quality with tubing stops and fit other products well (Toro Funny Pipe for trunk lines). The pressure compensating drip emitter pipes in 12" and 18" spacing work very well with surprisingly even drips at most locations in the tubing along the many lengths I have installed. The tubing normally does not require clamps to secure them to the fittings. Easy to use allowing quick installations. Good stuff so far.
