This works surprisingly well!
My 82 year old dad just got out of a 43 day stay in the hospital. His mobility is decreased as his muscles have atrophied. Unfortunately, he now has a peg tube in his stomach, and so we don't want to put any belts around his waist and lift him from a belt. We most often lift under his arms, but we're trying to be careful about not further damaging his arms/shoulders, etc. He can no longer sit-to-stand without assistance. This behind-the-back belt works surprisingly well. It works for me (51) as well as my mother (75). My dad is 206 lbs and I am 165 lbs. I only mention this because I imagine it may be harder to use this easily if the person being lifted was substantially heavier than the person lifting. This belt/sling is nicely padded to distribute pressure around his back. We don't strap it on him (again, peg tube), we just pull the straps. When I saw it I thought there might be a risk of the person doing the pulling falling over backwards. That doesn't remotely happen. We are obvious cautious when lifting my dad, and the goal is for my dad to use his own muscles as much as he can, so we only pull as much as is needed. It's fast, easy and effective. Really good product. The only time I couldn't get him up using this was when we were in a bathroom with a really low toilet. He was just down too low for this to do any good (and perhaps the quarters were too tight). For low toilets my mom and I need to get under his arms and do all the lifting. (Why on earth do they make doctor's office's toilets so low?!).

It works great
We use to use a regular gate belt but my father is 6’2 205lbs and it started to dig into his side, when we would try to catch him from falling. Because it is wider it is easier for use to get him up.

Useful
This Stand Assistance Belt Patient Lift Sling Heavy Duty Transfer Sling for Movement Padded Patient is a big help when attempting to transfer a patient without hurting yourself or the person you're attempting to transfer. While there isn't really anything new or groundbreaking here, these slings have been around for a long time because they work and this one is no different. I did appreciate the materials used which gives this a solid feel when using it which inspires confidence.Overall, this is a very useful for helping to get a patient up from a seated position to a helped standing position to help transfer them into bed. 4/5 stars.

This works well. My husband has Parkinson’s and needs help getting out of bed and this item works great! He weighs 250 pounds and I weigh 120 pounds and I can get him up with very little effort using it.
