NUMBERED black pages and colors that pop !
I have always loved scribes that matter journals. I wanted to try the black paper so I purchased the other brand.... Then stm dropped their starry night ! I swooped up and bought it to compare ! I love that stm has a pen test page/key and most of all page numbers ! It works well if you index your journals. I'm not keen on the white cover but I love the texture of the cover compared to other brand. Those complaining about the white cover. Stm now has sleeves and inserts available. You choose a color sleeve and can get the starry night insert 😍 love them so much ! I also included my pen test page.

Great quality, aggravating issues...
First off, I love the starry night theme, it's why I bought it in the first place. It's definitely sturdy and I don't have to deal with my pens bleeding through. However, the black pages open up a whole new can of worms. I'm not sure if it's just me but I had to set up a bright light just to be able to see the dots. Then, my markers and some pens rub off on the pages touching them. I'm a perfectionist, so it's aggravating as heck to have a gorgeous page, then it get ruined by smudging/ rubbing off. I've noticed this is especially true with my metallic markers, multiple brands. With pens, I've had to learn to leave the pages open for awhile after writing or I hit it with my heat gun (I make cards, so it's already near by, I wouldn't suggest anyone buy one just to dry the ink). See my photos to see the pages that have ink rubbed off, the weekly page was written soley with Sakura gelly roll white pens, the other page has metallic markers on the opposite page. I also included my "pen test" page so you could see the pens that rub off.

By far the coolest notebook that exists
I rarely write reviews, but I have to say, this is the coolest notebook I've ever seen. BLACK PAGES?! And the cover is gorgeous and comes with a sleeve so you don't get it dirty. If you're a little bit different and want something that no one else has, this is for you. It's my favorite thing right now. The paper is very thick, absolutely no bleed through. Pages are numbered. If you need to remove a page, there are no perforated edges so you will have to use an X-acto knife which worked perfectly for me. I just saved the removed page and use it as a practice page for my designs/testing out pens/fonts ect. Purchased with Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight Pen Set as recommended and they look amazing. It is literally a joy to open this thing every day! I almost didn't write a review because I don't want anyone else to have this because it's so unique BUT I do hope you can enjoy it as much as I do!

Numbered pages start on the left hand side!
Okay. I'm giving a one star so anyone looking for problems can find them. Honestly this is a product worthy of a much higher rating.First! Pet peeve, All 160 pages are numbered including the index, the key and the test page. Most importantly, and this products biggest downfall is that the pages start at 1 on the left hand page! I'm sorry, books are supposed to start numbering pages on page 1, not page 2! That also means that the Journal 'starts' on page 5.Two more things. I didn't realize that the Journal was embossed with 'Starry Night' and shooting stars. This was not clear to me when I bought it. Also, this Journal is about 50% thicker than a standard moleskin even though it is 40 pages shorter. The paper is thick, dark and quality. But seriously who starts counting pages from the left had side? Who made that decision? Why wasn't it corrected or caught? If they do another run of these I hope they at least change that! I could also do without the index, the pre numbered pages and the embossed cover. Just sell a good product, stop trying to be a thing, nobody is getting famous selling journals.P.S. This Journal comes in a box, has two place markers and a place to secure a pen. Besides the painfully stupidly numbered pages this honestly is a great product.

Just get it!
I ordered a few bullet journals as I'm new to it and didn't know where to start. This one is by far my favorite! It works EXCELLENT with Gelly Roll Moonlights. I was hesitant to get black for my first go round, but I'm so glad I did it! I'm 10/10 in LOVE.The durability of the notebook is TBD, but all of the dots line up well and it lays flat from the beginning. I have it side by side to the ARCHER & OLIVE and it definitely holds its own. Highly recommend for a first timer. Just wish they had a black cover with white paper so I could match this one!

Great book design, BAD quality control
There was a dead bug in the middle of the book, having crawled between the pages pre binding and then be squashed into the book during bind, see pic. We also found some stains from the manufacturing process on a few more pages, possibly blue or idk what but it did not wipe off with alcohol. (This was all sealed in shrink wrap so it definitely happened in the making.) Also the book cover had some dents. Awesome book design, if only it was all we received.

FINALLY a blackout journal that holds up to gell pens and metallic watercolor!
Obsessed! Super thick pages, the dots are very subtle and not distracting, and STM is the only journal I’ve found with ALL the attributes I love, like those thick pages, dots, markers for the middle sections, page numbers, and a pen test page! These last forever and I LOVE the black pages! My only complaint is that I smudged makeup on the front cover and cannot get it off. Of course white will show everything. But the book itself is gorgeous and so high quality!

Minor shipping damage but solid
One star off for the shipping, otherwise it looks like a solid notebook and I can't wait to use it! I've included pictures of the first couple pages (along with shipping damage) to give people an idea of what to expect. The notebook was shipped in a bubble mailer and a corner was crushed somewhere en route. The notebook comes with a thick cardboard sleeve that protected from most of the damage, except for one corner. Though disappointing that it's not in pristine condition, it's still perfectly usable.

Awesome journal.... but....
What can I say? This journal would have got 5 stars.... but....The first pages are upside down!!!!!!!Clearly a printing error. Was so disappointed as it’s my main Christmas present and I was really looking forward it!!Apart from that , perfect.

Quality is great but.....
The paper was really nice and thick. I wasn't a massive fan of all the index pages (I think there were 4) seemed like a bit of a waste of paper. This version is £5 more than the ordinary version. The cover is white and this is ok but could get dirty or discolour quite quickly I feel. Maybe another colour would be nicer for the black paper? Quality I absolutely can't knock but maybe I'd tweak a couple of other things.

High-quality paper in a beautiful notebook
Love this notebook! I've been using it as my bullet journal for about a month now and haven't had any problems with it. The cover features nice faux leather, so the notebook is comfortable to hold, and it has a sturdy pen loop and elastic closure attached. The paper is lovely and thick - ink dries really fast. Given the thickness, you may find that some inks don't look as bright as you expect when you write, but I've had great results with a white Gelly Roll gel pen and Stabilo metallic markers. I'd suggest trying out different inks on the pen test page at the back first of all.
