You've heard how good this book is...nobody was lying..it is Excellent !!!
Teaching Secondary Science a complete guide by Adam Boxer is truly an excellent book. I started reading it this morning and it feels as if it was written for me!. It is indeed helpful, enlightening and already improving how I will teach next term. The information Adam has shared will help everyone : trainees, ECT and experienced science teachers (and no doubt any subject teachers!) to up their teaching game and I believe enjoy teaching their classes and seeing the positive returns in student's learning we all strive for.

The bible of effective teaching
Have your eyes ever glazed over as somebody begins to talk "group work is great because it teaches skills"? This book is the antithesis of that, no vague statements about teaching, concrete examples of good practice backed up with the evidence of why it is effective. As someone who holds Adam as a core role model of how to teach science effectively, I have watched and read an awful lot of what Adam has to say and every single minute spent engaging with his wisdom has been valuable to me. Even still, in this book Adam has expertly sequenced and communicated his ideas and modelled expertly o you can take these ideas and actually use them tomorrow.

Excellent, would 100% recommend
This is a brilliant book both for new teachers and those that have been teaching a while. It is easy to read with many thought provoking examples. It helps you recognise yourself in the text and give small adjustments for improvement without you feeling like you need to do a massive overhaul of your teaching practice. I normally find academic literature a bit dry but this is a bit of page turner and has already provoked some interesting discussions within my department. Stop thinking about it and just buy it.

Excellent USEFUL resource!
Great book - actually provides concrete examples of what to do...also it isn't a one size fits all - there are discussions on how to adapt practise and really analyse what can make a difference. The advice and suggestions are also ACHIEVABLE, which makes a change from some educational books I have read. I would recommend this to new science teachers and also old hands that want to refresh their approach with evidece based useful advice.

The best science teaching book.
An excellent book with a clear rationale. Theory linked to how it looks in the classroom. Finally a book devoted to science teaching worth buying. In fact I bought it twice. Thank you Adam Boxer for pulling everything we need to know and putting it in one book.

Fantastic book especially for trainee/new teachers
I brought this book as I'm a trainee teacher and it explains so much I see in school but there isn't time to explain to me. It builds up through the stages of everything you need to know to plan and deliver a lesson. It has given me so much confidence to go back to school in January and make the impact I want on the students I teach (gone a long way to changing how I feel from I'm never going to figure this out - to yes I can do this!). A highly recommended must read for all new science teachers. The chapters are short and to the point so you will have time to dip in and out.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!
This book is the most comprehensive guide to teaching science I have ever read. Illustrated with detailed diagrams and practical guidance it's. Perfect for newly qualified and experienced teachers a like. Even non science teachers will find many techniques transferrable.
