After using metal barrettes similar to these, I had wanted to try these plastic barrettes because I thought they would be gentler to my hair and to my scalp. When I first opened the plastic wrap, I was disappointed that they were not more flexible and that they did not open sufficiently enough for the amount of hair I needed them to hold. However, after using them for a few days, they did loosen up without breaking- thought I was very tentative in stretching them open because they seemed as though they might be a somewhat brittle plastic. For what they are worth, I think that they were expensive and of course I was forced to buy 3 times the number of barrettes I needed. They are not at all as attractive as they appear on the website. However, I use them to hold my hair in place when I sleep, so the appearance is not critical to me. I had purchased the neutral colors (tan, brown, black). They are serving a purpose for me- as I typically put my hair in a ponytail on top of my head and then wrap the hair as though I were putting it in a roller (minus the roller of course). I then clip the bottom of the rolled hair to my scalp, which keeps the curl intact and the next day my hair looks as though I had just curled it. While I achieve the same look with metal barrettes, I do think that the plastic barrettes may be a bit more forgiving and less likely to tear or break my hair. For what that is worth. In summary, “okay” product, less attractive than pictures, not worth the cost, but they serve a purpose.

I have long fine hair and wanted a non-metal barrette to use to hold all my hair. I had a hard time putting these in without fear that I would break the barette because it had no hinge like some of their smaller versions. If they made a hinge-style of these it would solve the issue. Holds fine straight hair okay. It would slip within a couple hours. If you have curly or thick coarse hair, these should be fine to put up part of your hair.

I like to wear my hair in a low pony, but do not like to use an elastic. I have a medium to thick wavy hair. My usual go to style is a barrette. This is a simple, yet effective product. I loved the fact that this did not break my hair like metal barrettes do. It is not bulky, looks very neat and no tugging/slipping. Love it. I have been wearing it for a day and couldn't feel it.You should buy if you love wearing barrettes, but not the bulky retro ones.

Love these barrettes! I hate sleeping with my hair on my neck, and these hold it up and off my neck all night, they also won't rust and make my hair rusty(which is a problem I had.) Bonus they work with my clap machine mask!

Pricey IF you got what the pictures showed. I received three pairs and the rest were random mismatched colors, that I will never use. Used them for the first time today. While hiking one broke and fell out. So now I have two pairs for over 15. plus tax. They claim they are sturdy plastic. I guess not, if one broke the first day using. I had my metal clips for over 10 years. I wish I had just returned them when I saw what I got. You have been warned!

They are just too wide at the edges to properly keep hair in place. ILOVE the colors but ever wear the cuz y hair always sides out. Bummer cuz these clips have a quite lovely look

HOW very smart. Company sent a small clip as a gift. Just bought the small clips. I've gone threw so many awful clips. Goodies are know cheap, sharp and can't open. Others, the metal hardware breaks.This is genius. Plastic, smooth. Going to save my hair and head / scalp.My thick hair is thining. But it is long. I need clips to lift hair up to cover thin spots. Other clips pull at hair/metal tangles hair/pulls out or tangles.These darling angels are perfection. I've never spent this much for clips. LOL, but I'm always loosing them all over the house...or my friendly ghost. Then I have to buy something else. So, all in all, I have a happy lifetime of clips. And excited about the newer smaller snap clips Those I can use to "set" my hair. Yup, old fashioned. Why set your hair in the morning with hot irons etc when you can dampen and twirl your hair, clip / wake up/Un snap & cutly/wavy hair.To the person who sent lovely card: LOVE THE LOTUS. Excellent non damaging solution to pulling back thick and wiry hair. Does a superb job holding hair in place exactly where you want it without wrestling with harsh wires to trying to get the usual flimsy plastic to stay closed. BUY these today!!! You will be delighted with them!!!!
