99.9% Pure CITRIC ACID Anhydrous (CAS # 77-92-9) - 2 LB Bottle

I use it to decalcify my home coffee maker as well as the one at work. Works like a charm and much less expensive that purchasing descaling solutions. I mix one (1) tablespoon of this citric acid in a quart of warm water in a glass measuring container. And BTW, it dissolves instantly with a swish or two with a plastic spoon. Start the brewing cycle and turn off mid-cup and let the solution stand for 30 - 60 minutes. Then finish and discard the solution. Repeat a second time if the flow still isn't adequate. Then flush with at least two pots of fresh water. Taste the water coming out of the coffee maker to ensure all the citric acid has been flushed out. You'll know if it's not, citric acid has a bitter taste.

the crystals are so large that it makes bath bombs unstable. I'm using a filter to catch the largest bits but im now needing to grind 1/3 of the bottle by hand. If you were dissolving the acid im sure it would be be fine but for bath bombs i wont be rebuying

Definitely one of the more affordable citric acid that I found on Amazon. This is not an easy product to locate in grocery markets. I bought this solution to make toilet fizz, but I'm not sure if it's really doing the job that I thought it would. I'm thinking it's the combination of my products. Great price for this product.

Great product for the value. 2 pound container is approximately 4 cups. I made bath bombs using this citric acid and they turned out good and were very fuzzy (just as I would expect from a store bought bath bomb). I plan on purchasing this product in the future

I used this citric acid in bath bombs that I made and it worked great! Great price and it is easier to use because it is in a plastic holder and not a bag. I will purchase this product again! Also, this product is great as a cleaner for your coffee pot which my husband used it for. He said it did the job!

Two pieces came cracked and the rest cracked shortly after. Used this for a craft with my son and was highly disappointed we couldn't finish it. We don't have one complete half!

Product arrived on time, in a bubble envelope. Bottle was sealed, so I'd trust it if it was for food. I don't know all the uses for Citric Acid, but I found a recipe for "bath bombs" and wanted to try it. If it works out, I may buy more citric acid and make them with my Girl Scout Troop. I think the citric acid makes the bombs fizzy? But when I dropped a few small pieces into water, it didn't fizz. So maybe it's a combo of that and the other ingredients. I honestly don't know. Anyways, I made a batch of bath bombs and they turned out great! Fizzed in the tub just like ones I've bought from the stores. So this will work out fine. The bottle says to keep out of reach of children, but I felt fine letting my 11 year old handle it without any gloves or goggles. Also - I've used about 1/2 this bottle so far, so my guess is there are about 4 cups of powder in the bottle.

Price was good for 2 lbs, but label on product I received states purity to be 99%, not the 99.9% currently (October, 2016) indicated on Amazon. So up to 10x the impurities [Edit, See Comments, Seller says product is actually 99.9%]. I don't really care as I'm using it as a descaler, but I didn't like being misled. Product is not indicated to be food grade (was not claimed to be) so look elsewhere if you need that quality [Edit, See Comments, Seller says product is in fact repackaged Food Grade]. Granule size is similar to regular table salt. Bottle and child-proof cap are nice, better IMO than the press-seal bags shipped by many sellers. The foil-sealed bottle opening is about 1.25 inch (3 cm), not the wide mouth as shown in current Amazon product photo.Edit. With Seller clarifications, I've no complaints, just update label when practical. Upped rating from 4 to 5 stars. If you need this quantity and like the price, don't hesitate. Shipping was fast and on time to MD.
