The wires in the pictures do not come with the bag, those are the charging wires from your own batteries. The hole on the bottom is to feed your charging wires through.

yes, the zips are made of metal.

Can a battery be discharged while in case?

I dont see why not it it to charge in it so i assume you can discharge as well
