I bought this motor for a 22' pontoon boat. I wanted it both for fishing and also for exploring in shallow water. It does both well.In shallow water, I can stand next to the motor and quickly pull it up if it gets too shallow. It is powerful enough to stop or turn the boat in tight places.For trolling, it has enough power to hold against a strong current or strong wind. It has 10 speed settings that allow you to control the speeds of the boat and therefore the lures for good action.I use the wireless remote, which I can do from any position on the boat. Having it on the lanyard keeps it handy.I have also used this to maneuver the boat in difficult wind and current conditions. Since I have this mounted to the bow, it makes the boat very maneuverable. A pontoon boat is not very maneuverable and this is ideal for difficult conditions.My reason for giving it 4 stars was that it was not clear that it didn't come with the quick removal attachment plate or the foot control. I didn't care about the foot control, but the quick removal plate is ideal because of where it is mounted.It also won't hold it very high wind or current, but I didn't expect that and don't expect to be using it in those conditions.

Does not have anchor lock or it is remote controlled easy to get used to. Doesn't have reverse. Unless you spin it all the way around.very powerful pulls my 20ft starcraft with no problem. Up and down stream very quite. Super easy on my 1 deep cycle battery ran all day never went under 50% on the indicators lights that's built in. Very nice

This trolling motor is perfect for my application on a 14’ aluminum boat. I can troll for trout for 7hrs on one battery. I’ve only used it twice but seems to be exactly what is described. Remote control works great and recommend getting the quick attach setup for easy install and removal of not left on the boat. My only “complaint” is how far it stick out over the bow of the boat. But excellent product in my experience.Also they have excellent customer service. The first unit I received had a manufacturer defect and they didn’t hesitate to replace it. They even sent me a whole new unit before having to return the original one. Dora the customer service representative was great and had excellent communication.

Use it in saltwater but rinse it after every use with fresh water bottom already rusted up and stopped working it glitched a few times them stopped moving,only would go forward now it doesn’t even run, very disappointed that’s what you get for buying a cheaper one then spending a little bit more on a Minnkota

We had product issues...company was great about having it returned through Amazon but we were disappointed the propeller just stopped working. Returned and bought another trolling motor.
