What a lovely book. The story is so sweet and written in such a way everyone who reads it will have an understanding of what the title means. The illustrations are beautiful with informational text too.Perfect for any preschool or elementary school child as well as the adult who reads it to them.I would highly recommend. I loved it!

Review by Sarah, Age 9Have you ever wondered what it's like to move from place to place? In the realistic fiction book, "Migrant," the author, Maxine Trottier, tells us what it might be like to be a child in a migrant family.Anna is a little girl who lives in the 1920s. Her family moves from one farm to another picking fruit and vegetables. She feels like a rabbit or a bee jumping all over with no real home. Her brothers and sisters cuddle together at night to feel safe. Anna wants to be a tree standing tall in one place. Will she ever be a tree? The author wrote this book to let people know how children felt on farms in the 1920s. My favorite thing about this book is when the dogs were sleeping on each other because there was no room.I liked this book because I liked when Anna is a kitten and she shared a bed with her sisters and they were under one blanket. I would recommend this book because I think people would like it.
