Q: What size/kind of battery does this watch take?

CR2016, if you want a good watch, you can even tell time it is without wearing glasses, and it has a nice face light to see the numbers at night 👍

Q: is this watch quiet or can you hear it tick?

I believe it is relatively quiet. When wearing it I can't hear it, but if I put it up to my ear, I can hear it tick. So it is not totally silent, and it certainly does not bother me at all! I like the watch, as it is easy to read, and I like the indiglo feature. Hope that helps!
