I have an out of production vehicle (for some time) and some molded hoses are hard to come by. I had originally used straight heater hose to replace one hose and made it longer than the original considering it had to make some hard turns. What I found is that the hose creased and stopped flow into the heater core which isn't very convenient in the winter. I bought these ninety degree elbows to fix that issue and they worked. I cut the hose right where it creased and the length of the barbed piece kept the hose from collapsing in either direction. The only thing I didn't use was the hose clamps. I find that most hose clamps are cheaply made now days. I prefer constant spring tension clamps. They can be difficult to work with but they are very effective and held up well with this brass elbow.

The fitting was sized just as it should be worked well on some cooling lines on my van .
