od of shaft is 2", matching the id of the PVC pipe into which it is inserted. I cannot measure the length of the shaft because once it is inserted into the PVC pipe it is very difficult to remove. The od of the flange is 2 3/8" as previously mentioned. This matches the od of the PVC pipe into which it has been inserted.

I assume the internal drain size is 2in? What is the diameter of the upper flat portion?

I measured the outside diameter of the snap in drain plug at 2 3/8", matching the outside diameter of the PVC pipe into which it has been inserted.

The description says there are metallic ones available but I can’t find them. Are they really available?

Possibly a different design - do a search to find the various options.

Could this cover be safely used as a furnace exhaust cover?

This is made from ABS PLASTIC - I definitely would NOT use this as a furnace exhaust cover!
