I almost didn’t get this due to many reviews saying “it does nothing at all”. This inexpensive control merely throttles the current to your fan, enabling you to reduce the speed by up to 50%. It works exactly as described and is an excellent control for reducing the speed and/or noise level of your fan. UPDATE: The controller failed after a couple weeks. iPower sent a brand new replacement, and I received it within a couple days. This is the third product I’ve tried from this company, and I have been very happy with performance and support. They definitely stand behind their products.

Amazing Product. Works Perfectly and High Quality Build
This item works perfectly to give me better control over a 20 inch orbital drum fan that already had 3 speeds but there was very little difference between high and low speeds. From what I read online I didn't think this would even work. But eventually I decided to take a chance and try it out. I am so happy that I did. It could not work better. The item has a very good quality feel. The dial to adjust speed it smooth and feels like it will last a very long time. Highly recommend. Even if what you want to control already has speed control this still gives you more control. Excellent product.

Works exactly as described. Awesome little set up that is universal.
I was surprised at how well designed this switch is! I actually used it to replace our fireplace fan switch. With this setup, I was able to mount the switch further away from the fireplace assembly. I connected it to a surge protector as well. The old switch kept melting because it was mounted from the factory into the bottom of the fireplace insert and the original switch was plastic with a metal knob that would blister your hand after heating up the fireplace. So after 3 sets of switches from Fireplace Xtrordinaire, is decided to fix their mistake with this unit! All I can say is that this is how it should have been all along! And at the price of 13 bucks, it was a steal!
