Missing Weatherproof Ethernet Cable Cap
This junction box is sold as water-proof, yet the two I ordered (at separate times), both failed to come packaged with the Weatherproof Ethernet Cable Cap (Cable Gland) to ensure the elements don't enter the box when the ethernet cable is installed. I emailed Amcrest about this & they came back with "we're out of stock", but at your own expense here's a link to purchase it from another company. After, begrudgingly putting out more money for this install, I get the product & it's not the right size. So now I'm out of more money & without the caps. The issue is clearly their fault, but they don't want to own up to it...not good Amcrest...not good at all...

Makes it easy to install camera where cable cannot be routed through mounting surface
PLUSES: We used the Amcrest-specific junction box to mount each of 4 IP3M-943B cameras (see our separate review for camera). The cameras are mounted in locations where it's not possible to drill a 1" hole to pass the power and Ethernet connector cables through the mounting surface. The junction box made it relatively easy to put the cables into the box and run the power cord into the junction box.MINUSES: We think the junction box is over-priced. But it is specifically tailored to a number of Amcrest cameras and matches the finish of the cameras. We could not find a good option for the exposed position in which our cameras are mounted so perhaps price is beside the point. No explicit instructions come with the box but the mounting is reasonably self-evident (the box comes with a handy template and mounting screws). We used braided cable to cover the power cord and "stick-on" 1/4" clips to run the cord to the power outlet.

Good materials but requires custom cutting/drilling to make the camera fiit.
The cables coming out the back of my Amcrest 4K POE camera exit at the 4 o’clock position. The mounting box only has a receiving hole in the center so I have to cut away metal to create a way for the cable to enter the box. Not a huge deal would it would be nice to just fit out of the box. At least they could’ve perforated the metal to allow me to snap off a channel with pliers.Additionally, the screw holes on my camera (IP8M-2493EB) do not match any holes on the mounting box face so I’ll have to drill my own.Figure I’ll spend an extra hour to get this together when I thought I was buying an out-of-the box solution for a mounting box since it claimed to be compatible with my model.Material thickness is good. Screw hardware seems good. Just disappointed in the actual fit of camera-to-base.

Great Junction Box for Multiple Amcrest Cameras
I used this to mount my Amcrest IP8M-2496E. This camera has a square mounting bracket and this Amcrest junction box can accommodate without any issues. I drilled a whole on the plastic screw cap to run my cat5e so that it would have a cleaner look. With it being Poe I did not have to run any power to this. This is an outdoor camera and we had our first good rain and I had no issues with the cabling. The pre-drilled holes can also fit the cameras that have the triangle shape mounting points. Price isn't cheap but the hardware is nice, comes with allen key for the bracket and camera.
