Works great on 2015 / 2016 Colorado & Canyon
First of all, contrary to what the site says this is the correct kit for the 2015 / 2016 Canyon / Colorado. It fits and works perfectly. I received the kit a couple of days sooner than expected which was a bonus. The packaging was in new condition from the manufacturer and the instructions were simple to follow. The Pop & Lock works great. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Excellent product with poor instructions.
Just finished installing the Pop & Lock PL8140 in my 2016 GMC Canyon and it works perfectly and exactly as the OEM door locks -- even though Amazon says it doesn't fit my model. The following is a short recap of my install experience: The mechanical installation of the ot the solenoid and actuating cam is a breeze and took all of five minutes. I used the same wire routing as the backup camera cable out the bottom of the tailgate, connecting shorter wire to the "bullet" plugs of the solenoid. Next I stretched out the main (long) wire under the truck up to the front drivers door. At this point I removed the step sill -- light to moderate pressure, pulling up from the rear first and it came loose followed by pulling the large "L" shaped part next to the parking brake aft and the whole trim piece came free. Below the step sill is a long black plastic cover that comes off with a little "bothering", exposing the main wiring bundle. Under the carpet about where the driver's left foot would rest is a plastic plug embedded in the metal floor -- I drilled a 1/4" hole in the plug from the bottom up and inserted the long wiring cable through (I later sealed it with silicone). After several misfires (more about that in a minute) I located the correct wires and connected to them with the provided wire taps. The wire taps are not so easy to use and, for me, required a pair of plyers and some stubborn persistance to get a good connection (you may wish to solder the wires). Back to finding the wires: The bundle contains many wires of various sizes and color combinations -- understanding that no two wiring bundles are alike, on my truck, the Tan wire with yellow stripe was right on top and easy to find. Be aware that there is a smaller tan/yellow wire in the bundle as well -- pick the larger of the two. There was another wire next to the large tan/yellow wire that I identified as grey. It was NOT -- in retrospect it was DARK grey (nearly black). I spent an hour or so fiddling with various wiring combination and connections before deciding that I did not have the correct "grey" wire. Further search produced the correct LIGHT GREY (also larger) wire buried in the middle of the wiring bundle. I made the connections with the balky wire taps and the solenoid and lock functioned perfectly. Working backwards from the drivers door I secured the wiring cable to the main truck wiring harness as it snakes it's way aft to the tailgate. This was a somewhat difficult procedure for me and required about 3x the zipties provided by Pop & Lock for the installation. After double checking the lock function again with the key fob and the manual function of the key in the lock (don't forget - it's operation changes with the installation of the Pop and Lock cam - see step 5 in the instructions) all that was left was to reassemble all the parts I disassembled to start with. A couple of things to be aware of: Pop & Lock's instructions are minimal at best -- watch some of the "how to" videos available on YouTube. Don't expect much help from Pop & Lock - I called their technical support when I was having trouble locating the correct wires -- was directed to a voice mail that assured me that some one would call me right back. I left a message with name and number -- no one has called a day later. Fortunately I found the correct wires by searching and trial and error. Don't forget the extra zipties. Hope this helps.

Works good
It was pretty easy to install and it works well. Although it's much louder than the door actuators.

they would look like factory install and they do
After reading many favorable reviews on the PL8140 Pop & Lock, I pulled the trigger without hesitation. First of all, I have to say Wow!! I had the package in hand the day after I ordered it!! Did not expect that! This install went in on my 2014 GMC Sierra SLT, Crew Cab.The Pop & Lock install went in smoothly, without a hitch. I went from start to finish in about 60 minutes and could have done it in maybe 45 minutes but I'm a stickler for details and I took extra time running my wires back to the cab to make sure they were hidden well, secured very well and if anyone ever saw them, they would look like factory install and they do!After opening the package, I looked up a video on youtube that a guy took while doing his install. I thought about making and posting one myself but his was so good, I didn't think another one out there is needed. Watched his 7 or so minute video and went out and put the pop & Lock right in without any fuss or muss.I love this thing!! It works perfectly! When I hit my lock button one time on my key fob, all the doors, including the tailgate lock. When I hit the unlock one time on my key fob, the drivers door locks, as it does from the factory. When I hit the key fob the 2nd time to unlock, all the rest of the doors unlock, including the tailgate! Perfect!! It should come from the factory like this!! What a great idea!I installed this option because I'm installing a new Tonneau cover tomorrow and I ordered with a keyless entry option, so I need to make sure the tailgate is always locked when I walk away from my truck. Now I don't have to worry about wondering or trying to remember if I left my tailgate unlocked or now when I leave the truck! Great product, highly recommended, this was a great idea and I'd buy again in a minute if I had another truck!I recommend you look up the Youtube video if you have a GMC or Chevy Pickup, it's short but once you see it, it will remove any trepidation you may have of trying to do this yourself, it's really easy...

simple and easy to do
watched a video on YouTube , it was easy. just make sure you crimp the wire connector as I had one that I didn't crimp hard enough but after recrimping it was great.
