Not Ideal for True Surround Sound I tried both HDMI ARC and this optical cable for 5.1 Dolby surround sound. HDMI ARC provides a much better surround experience. This optical cable feels more like 2.1, although the volume is louder. **Pros:** - Clear audio - Louder volume **Cons:** - Lacks true 5.1 surround sound effects Overall, good for basic audio but not for genuine surround sound.

Appears to be good quality optical cable. Works with my old stereo setup using a toslink to RCA converter. For me, good value for the price. If I needed more, I would buy again
