There aren't any pockets on the inside of the 1537?

The main storage pouch does not have any pockets. It is just a large opening.

What are the exact measurements for this bag? The description is usually wrong on these things.

My bag is broken in and loaded with what I need. Rough measurements are with the bag closed. 12.5" tall, 11" wide, 16" long. Inside the main compartment I get 8" wide, 12" deep, and 15" long. Hope this helps

Can you fit a hammer inside the bag?

The dimensions quoted are 13"L x 17"W x 13"H. Looking at it, the dimensions should be 13"W x 13"H x 17"L - with the long side oriented along length of the zippered top. A 16-ounce hammer is about 16" -17" long. I would say that a hammer of reasonable size will fit inside.

The images at the top of the page and in some of the reviews look more like the 1539 than the 1537. What are people actually getting?

Before ordering this I researched the confusion between the 1537 and the 1539. Looks like at one point the photos for the smaller 1537 were actually the larger 1539. That was corrected and the photos now shown are the smaller 1537. For your reference here is a link to eh bag on the CLC website. If you're considering buying the bag get it from Amazon!
