A great product designed and built well
I live in Florida, one of the few states prohibiting mounting devices to the windshield so I needed a good dash solution. This product is working out great. No issues with the suction cup shearing to the base and the dash bag is nice and heavy. I mounted my own little anti slip rubber pad to the flat piece with some hot glue. Then I put a dab of hot glue in my Uniden radar detector. It is nice and solid and I can easily remove it with a little force if I ever want to. I can take the bean bag with detector out of the sun and set it on the center console if parking for an extended time.Great product, good price.

Works well...if you prep the suction cup right
This beanbag mount works great for placing my radar detector on the dash. It stays put and is solid. I haven't had any problems with it sliding around and haven't had to use the anchor mount, yet anyway.BUT... you need to prep the suction cup! I bought 2 of these. The first one wouldn't stick and I tried everything (I thought) and finally just epoxied the suction cup to the bean bag, which technically did work. After some googling and watching youtube on how to restore a faulty suction cup mount, I ordered a second one of these. When they arrive in the packaging, the suction cup lever will be in the locked position. Problem is, then the suction cup has been sitting for a long time in a warehouse with it in this position and develops a "permanent" concave, so when you take it right out of the packaging and try to mount it, it won't stick. So this time, the first thing I did was unlock the suction cup lever, then ran a hair dryer over it for a few minutes to warm up and relax the rubber cup (be careful not to use too much heat or you might melt it!). Then I let it rest overnight in the unlocked position at room temperature so the cup had plenty of time to relax back to its normal flat state. The next morning, I used the alcohol prep pad on both the bean bag and suction cup, locked it down and then it worked! One other change I made was to replace the included velcro with heavy-duty 3M Dual Lock. My radar detector bounced around too much with the velcro, and now it's solid with the Dual Lock. With the few caveats I mentioned above, this is otherwise an excellent bean bag dash mount!

Nice Mount for a Flat Dashboard.
This mount is nice for a flat dashboard. It is nicely weighted and has a decent rubberized bottom. The suction mount shelf is a good design and seems to stick well to the beanbag. Quite frankly, I wish they made a unit that had a permanently attached mounting shelf and lowered the shelf even more. Yet, being able to remove the suction cup gives you more options.Overall, the quality feels very good and works perfectly for my car and detector. Worth it.

This thing slides all over the dashboard and the adhesive on the velcro melts in summer heat
If you always drive in a straight line and never make any sudden stops, it will not slide. If you drive in city traffic and make lots of quick stops and turns, this thing slides all over the place. You would have to drive like a grandma and be EXTREMELY gentle on turns and stops to avoid this thing sliding around. (though it often still moves slightly even when I'm trying my hardest to be as gentle as is takes to keep it from moving). You can forget about U-turns. It slides completely off the dashboard in seconds.I've tried numerous positions/locations on the dashboard and it does not matter, it slides like crazy in response to turns and stops no matter what location. Also, they give you a sticky velcro adhesive to attach your device to the mount. Well that adhesive will melt in 80-90 F weather in no time. A solution to this might be to buy "heat resistant" or "weather proof" gorilla tape or velcro to use on this instead. Which I would be happy to try and do, but since the entire piece already slides all over the dashboard, there's no point. I suppose one could try to gorilla tape the entire thing to the dashboard, but that's probably going to leave damage. Better off just going back to using the stupid window suction cups that shatter from heat and cold after a few years. In conclusion, there's a lot of stuff that would work in a car, if not for the extreme, prolonged temperatures destroying everything: suction cups, adhesives, etc.I'm NOT surprised their standard velcro adhesive is melting in summer weather. I am pissed the platform beanbag slides all over the dashboard since the big sell is that it won't do that. The suction cup section sticks to the beanbag just fine. The issues are the velcro adhesive melting in just hours and the beanbag sliding all over the dashboard.
