With the foil transfer tool you can use it to embellish cards or other paperstock. Also can be transferred to make leather earrings for example. The transfer tool actually transfers the foil to your flat project with the Cricut machine **Q: Can these tips be used to transfer foil by hand, without a machine?** A: Kind of nope. I just tried it out for you because I had scraps. The foil transfers, but it only impressed about 25-35% of each letter or shape. You need very hard, even pressure that only the machine can provide (and doesn't even do very well at that, if you ask me. There were no instructions to tell you to do this and since I am new to Cricut, I just put a bit of tape on all four sides, so as not to damage my project.
