Q: Is there a way to turn off the music and still have it move?

I’m not sure. The Snail is so engaging to a little one because of the music which holds their attention and is rhythmic. Little ones in our family love it!

Absolutely fabulous and adorable toy !!........grandkids loved it.....!!

Q: Did you find that it actually encouraged your baby to crawl?

Absolutely adorable toy.......2 grand babies loved it!........yes, "encouraged" is the right word......i wouldn't say that it convinced them to crawl bc it was given to them at about 4 mos old.......they did chase it later though at about 6 mos, after they had learned to crawl.......i'd say that they lost interest in it somewhere around 10.5 to 11 mos when they were too busy learning to walk........good luck !!
