One of the best ongoing Marvel books around
I love this book. Volume 2 of the Invincible Iron Man: Ironheart series is outstanding. It’s fun, extremely well written and a joy to read. Riri Williams has got to be one of the best new characters in the past 2 generations of comics. I just finished the book moments ago and I am ready to start volume 3. Hearing that Brian Michael Bendis is going to work exclusively at DC causes me concern about what we can expect with Riri and I haven’t seen any clear definitive answers. I hope this character is allowed to continue to go and grow and that we see her for many years to come. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes Marvel, superheroes, diverse characters, well written comics or any of the above.

The Rise of Ironheart
Volume one of this series finished off any unresolved plotlines from Bendis' previous Iron Man run, leaving volume two to finally expand on Riri's story. As the volume starts, Riri is still trying to keep a somewhat low profile as she trains in her armor with the help of Tony Stark's A.I. consciousness. But now, that's become more difficult with the world now obsessed with her hero persona after her victory in volume one. SHIELD has also taken notice, and they're none to happy about this unknown hero. But desperate times call for desperate measures. After SHIELD Sub-Director Sharon Carter and others are attacked by the forces of Lucia Von Bardas, Ironheart is propelled to international aclaim as she gets embroiled in the Latverian civil war. Von Bardas isn't the only obscure villain here either, joined by Will 'O the Wisp and Lady Octopus. This volume was again very good. I'm truly starting to enjoy Riri's character as she grows in the Marvel Universe. Stefano Caselli returns on art duties from volume one, and it's just as good as before. He draws the majority of the book. The only problem really is that her story is once again going to be sidetracked. With writer Brian Michael Bendis leaving for DC Comics, he's had to move up his plans for the series. The end of this volume teases the next arc, where both Ironheart and the Infamous Iron Man will try to track down the missing Tony Stark. Overall though, I recommend this series even more than before.4/5
