I use candles frequently, so I have used refillable candle lighters for years. They do not hold much fuel and the sparking mechanisms are not very durable. So, when I saw this, I just had to try it. It is simple to use and stays fairly cool. It will light a candle is a couple of seconds, though it works best on primed, closely trimmed wicks. It comes with a very short charging cord, which could be plugged into a computer, but I already have this type of cord (but longer) on my charging station. The included wall hanger looks nice, but is VERY sticky. So it will stay put, but is likely to pull paint off, when you want to remove it. I suggest using a Command Adhesive hook instead, if you want to hang it.So, in sum, the accessories could be better, but the lighter is great.

I was already questioning my purchase when I opened the box and the 2 screws that hold the lighter together had stripped heads. That said, the lighter worked great the handful of times that I used it, until it electrocuted my wife and then myself.I tinker with electronics as a hobby, so I took the lighter apart to see what happened - There is a solder joint wrapped in heat-shrink tubing that rubs up against the metal housing every time you extend or retract the electrodes. This eventually shorted out, burned up the heat-shrink, and started electrocuting the user.

Really minimal pressure required from your thumb--about the same as a mouse button or phone key. So much less than any of the butane or sparker types I've tried and failed to operate.Will light candles if the wick is 1/4" or longer. (Tip the candle to about 45 degrees.)Charges in an hour or so. Hope it lasts!

I've had this lighter for 3 weeks and it works as advertised. Haven't found anything I can't light with it.. I topped off the charge when I received it and it is still operating on that original charge. Very satisfied!Still working good, but on subsequent chargings, leave it charging for at least 1 hour after the charging light goes out.

Worked great... for about a month. Then it wouldn't spark unless you only extended the tip part-way so that the electrodes were closer together. Little by little, had to keep the electrodes even closer in order for it to operate. And now, after just over two months, it won't hold a charge. Charged it last night and lit a candle. This morning it needs to be charged again.

Great item! Sleek, reliable and easily charged via the USB cord. Just be sure to check the box thoroughly, because the charging cord is small and easily overlooked and lost.

This is perfect for candles and holds a charge for a while. I light about 20 candles a week and charge this once every 2-3 weeks. Happy with this lighter.
