Perfect Butter dish
Was looking for an elegant butter dish for Kerry Gold sized butter. This one added elegance and functionality to our kitchen. Did you know that you don't have to refrigerate your butter? Keeps if very soft and looks fantastic. Even comes with a cute butter knife.

If the top fits when you get yours, Leave it alone. Mine was perfect, just perfect. Then I saw where the silicone gasket was turned up in a couple of places and thought I would "fix it". Now I "fixed it" it doesn't close right. Wisdom: If it isn't broken, leave it alone. This was perfect before I messed with it. The butter knife is weighty and substantial. I would buy more of the butter knives by itself if I could.This will hold 8 oz of either European or quartered butter/margarine. This will hold 2/8oz = 16 oz SOFTENED butter pressed down. Otherwise the lid will not close with the 16oz butter in a hardened state. No problem with just 8 oz. or less. The silicone gasket is removable. I will replace with a large rubber band if I cannot find a replacement when it finally wears out. Made in China. I would buy this product again.

Lovely little butter dish. I took a star off because it doesn't seal tightly.Otherwise this is cute, handy, keeps your butter from absorbing odors.

Wrong colour was sent
Even though the dish is a good size for a block of butter, I had ordered a white butter dish but was sent a black one instead. Dont like the black one so will be returning it.
