Mind boggling
Simply put superb. Couldn't Wait for more. It's so absorbing. Tom Clancy as always the best. Jack Ryan the ultimate hero.

A great book. Beware the abridged audio Cd
I have read Clancy tales for years. This is amongst the best. Not quite as good as Sum of all fears or Without remorse but well up there. Be aware that the Amazon Prime version is a very expensive way of buying the Audio CD all the more so when an abridged version is supplied which is not referred to in the item description. That said, as above, the book is excellent joining immediately unto continuing the A matter of honour storeyline.Ryan, now the president and a non politician is seen as weak and the country vulnerable.Foreign back stabbing political leaders decide to take a piece of the world for themselves and bring on the capability of the most powerful military into action.Good descriptive high tech battle scenes and whilst not cut and dried as a fact many of the actions and scenarios are not outside the rhealms of possibility. Please click the useful review button if this has been helpful

Of it's time
I read this book in the 90s when it was relatively new and I remember quite enjoying it. It was the first and possibly the only terrorist novel I have read and it stuck in my mind, so for that reason I recently read it again, which was spooky with an Ebola epidemic and ISIS in the news - I started it before these news stories came to the fore. Tom Clancy's foresight was pretty amazing. HIs knowledge of all things related to war, from equipment to battle tactics, is also pretty impressive and I'm left really wondering where the lines are between reality and what he makes up in these areas. On the other hand, his portrayal of the president and everything relating to that world is just laughable. He also has a tendency to go off into Republican rants on occasion and there's a lot in here that's not PC these days, even down to small things like having a lot of smoking going on. It was so slow I was praying for the end. It could have been a third of the size or less, but the further I got the more I had vested in getting there so I stuck with it, then said "phwew".

Good read, Poor condition.
A good read as to be expected from this writer but the book was not in as good a condition as I expected to be.

Executive Orders was an excellent read, I would recommend this to anyone
Executive Orders was an excellent read, I would recommend this to anyone, great book for taking on holidays, absolute bliss lying on a lounger at the beach, the water gently lapping and being engrossed in your book regardless of what is going on around.
